Discretion is advised.]On 07/12/2025 at 0650 hours Sergeant Hunt responded to [1200 BLOCK] W North Main in reference to a domestic incident. Sergeant Hunt arrived on scene and spoke with listed complainant [VICTIM #1]. As Sergeant Hunt spoke with [VICTIM #1] about the situation, listed offender/arrested (Jermaine Tarpkin) exited the residence. [VICTIM #1] advised Sergeant Hunt she wanted her keys back from Jermaine who was refusing to provide them to her. [VICTIM #1] stated Jermaine and her have had ongoing issues and showed several scratches or small injuries to the skin that have healed over (indication of old wounds). [VICTIM #1] advised she wanted her keys and wanted Jermaine to leave her residence. Sergeant Hunt moved to speak with Jermaine about is side of events.Upon speaking with Jermaine, Sergeant Hunt noticed the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Jermaine’s persson. Sergeant Hunt noticed Jermaine had glossy eyes. Sergeant Hunt provided [VICTIM #1] with the keys to her vehicle and stood by to allow Jermaine to retrieve his belongings from [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle while maintaining the peace between both parties. Jermaine retrieved all his belongings from the vehicle and advised he was going to the front entrance of the apartment complex to wait for his ride. Sergeant Hunt advised it was best to separate and informed [VICTIM #1] of the temporary protective order process. Sergeant Hunt returned to service (2025-00004586).At approximately 0757 hours, Sergeant Hunt was dispatched out to the residence due to a domestic disturbance. Sergeant Hunt while en route was advised [VICTIM #1] was pushed down after Jermaine barged into her residence and took her keys from her. Sergeant Hunt and Officer Young arrived on scene. Sergeant Hunt advised Officer Young to stop and speak with Jermaine who was at the entrance of the apartment complex. Sergeant Hunt continued to move and speak with [VICTIM #1] about the incident.[VICTIM #1] advised Sergeant Hunt she observed Jermaine walk behind the other apartment complex buildings towards her. [VICTIM #1] stated she got up and attempted go into her apartment, however Jermaine shoved the door and it caused her to fall. [VICTIM #1] stated she was talking with her neighbor at the time the incident occurred. Sergeant Hunt spoke with listed witness [WITNESS #1] about his account of events. [WITNESS #1] advised he observed Jermaine walk around the apartments. As he approached [VICTIM #1] and she went to go inside the apartment, Jermaine shoved the door causing [VICTIM #1] to almost fall. [WITNESS #1] stated Jermaine yelled “give me my stuff bi*ch” to [VICTIM #1] and they began to verbally argue. [WITNESS #1] stated both [VICTIM #1] and Jermaine exited the apartment exchanged words and Jermaine went back to the front of the apartment complex entrance.Sergeant Hunt asked [VICTIM #1] if she wanted to prosecute and she advised “yes”. Sergeant Hunt went to Officer Young and Jermaine’s location and spoke with Jermaine. Sergeant Hunt was advised by Jermaine he did not get physical with [VICTIM #1]. Jermaine expressed and demonstrated how he came to get his property and she was antagonizing him to get an reaction. Jermaine advised [VICTIM #1] had his “black n mild” smokes. Jermaine asked for it back and when offered to him, he snatched it quick and retreated back to prevent an altercation. Sergeant Hunt based on the totality of the circumstances and a witness to corroborate [VICTIM #1]’s account of events, Sergeant Hunt advised Jermaine he was under arrest.Jermaine’s hands were placed into handcuffs behind the back. The handcuffs were checked for fit and double locked to prevent tightening. Jermaine’s person was searched incident to arrest to check for weapons and contraband. All of Jermaine’s property on person was given to listed other [REDACTED] at his request. Jermaine was placed into the rear of Sergeant Hunt’s patrol vehicle without incident. Sergeant Hunt patrol vehicle was check for weapons and contraband prior and after transport, none were found.Jermaine was turned over to Walker County Detention without issue and accepted. Jermaine was charged with disorderly conduct 15-4 with court date 8-18-2025. Sergeant Hunt also noticed [VICTIM #1] had blood coming from the left side of her lip. [VICTIM #1] advised the incident occurred prior to the new incident. Sergeant Hunt did not notice the blood during their first encounter.[End of Narrative].
