The male was later identified as, David McClure.Mr. [WITNESS ] stated that Mr. McClure advised him and his stepdad, [VICTIM ] got into an argument that became physical. He stated that Mr. McClure advised him that Mr. [VICTIM ] punched him in the back of the head. He stated that Mr. McClure advised him not to call law enforcement.Deputy Cobb then made with Mr. McClure. Deputy Cobb asked Mr. McClure what happened. He advised Deputy Cobb that him and Mr. [VICTIM ] got into an argument because, “He’s a yankee and we don’t get along”. Mr. McClure then stated that him and Mr. [VICTIM ] got into a physical altercation. Deputy Cobb observed the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Mr. McClure’s person. Deputy Cobb also observed Mr. McClure’s lip to be busted, blood on the right side of his nose, and his hands to be bloody and scraped up. Deputy Cobb also observed a knot on the back of Mr. McClure’s head. Deputy Cobb asked Mr. McClure how much he had to drink tonight and how did he obtain his injuries. He advised Deputy Cobb that he had one beer to drink tonight. Mr. [WITNESS ] then stated “You told me you had a bottle of mad dog and a beer”. Mr. McClure agreed with Mr. [WITNESS ]’s statement. Mr. McClure advised Deputy Cobb that he fell down the steps as he was leaving the residence that’s how he got the knot on the back of his head. He advised that his hands are scraped up and bloody from Mr. [VICTIM ] slamming the front door on them. He then advised his lip was busted due to Mr. [VICTIM ] punching him in the face. Deputy Cobb asked Mr. McClure if he needed medical attention. Mr. McClure declined medical attention.Deputy Cobb then requested another unit to be en route to his location. Deputy Cobb then placed Mr. McClure in the rear passenger compartment of his patrol vehicle and relocated to [1800 BLOCK] Raburn Road NE.Deputy Sharp then arrived on scene.Upon arrival, Deputies made with Mr. [VICTIM ]. Deputy Cobb observed Mr. [VICTIM ] with a band aid over his lip. Deputy Cobb advised him to remove it and he did. Deputy Cobb observed the left side of Mr. [VICTIM ]’s lip to be split in two pieces. Deputy Cobb also observed blood on the front door of the residence. Deputy Cobb then asked Mr. [VICTIM ] what happened to his lip and he advised Mr. McClure punched him in the mouth. He then stated that he punched Mr. McClure back in the mouth to defend himself. Mr. [VICTIM ] advised Deputy Cobb that this is not the first incident where him and Mr. McClure have got into a physical altercation. Deputy Cobb then observed a gash on the back of Mr. [VICTIM ]’s head. He advised Deputy Cobb that Mr. McClure began drinking an MD 20/20 and became aggressive towards him and that’s what started the argument and the physical altercation.Deputy Cobb then made with [WITNESS ] and asked what happened. She stated that it was just two guys with a smart mouth that got into a physical altercation because of it. She stated she was lying in bed because she has been sick for the past 3 days. She stated she heard Mr. [VICTIM ] and Mr. McClure start fighting and she couldn’t stop them. She stated she walked into the living room and observed Mr. [VICTIM ] sitting on the ground. She stated she assisted Mr. [VICTIM ] off the ground.Deputy Cobb requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to be en route to evaluate Mr. [VICTIM ]’s injuries. Deputy Cobb then asked Mr. [VICTIM ] if he remembered falling and hitting his head and he stated no. Deputy Cobb observed blood on the floor from the front door of the house to the back-left bedroom of the house. Deputy Cobb also observed blood on the washing machine.EMS arrived on scene and Mr. [VICTIM ] was turned over to them.Deputy Cobb asked Mr. McClure to exit his patrol vehicle, and he did.Based on the facts and circumstances Deputy Cobb then placed Mr. McClure under arrest and handcuffed him with his hands behind his back. Deputy Cobb checked the cuffs for proper fit and double locked them. Deputy Cobb placed Mr. McClure in the rear passenger compartment of his patrol car.Deputy Cobb began transporting Mr. McClure to the Whitfield County Detention Center. While en route to the Whitfield County Detention Center Mr. McClure advised Deputy Cobb that his head was hurting and he now wished to be evaluated by EMS. Deputy Cobb advised him that he would be evaluated by the Whitfield County Medical Staff.Deputy Cobb transported Mr. McClure to the Whitfield County Detention Center where he was turned over to the Whitfield County Booking Staff.
