The neighbor, who did not wish to meet, advised the suspect and victim had been yelling at each other and running in and out of the residence.Upon arrival, I overheard the victim coming to the door advise the suspect that she hadn’t called 911. Once the victim came outside, I immediately observed significant bruising around her neck and throat, as well as bruises on her right arm in the shape of fingers. The victim initially did not mention any physical altercation that had happened, suggesting they were only yelling at each other and throwing items around the residence. After being confronted about the bruises, the victim appeared uneasy about talking about it. I asked when and what the bruises are from, to which she advised they were the result of the suspect choking her. When asked if she was able to breathe during the assault, she advised that she was unable to.After speaking with the victim, I then spoke with the suspect. When asked about what had occurred today, the suspect acted as if nothing had happened. When asked about the argument and screaming, he stated that it happens all the time. I asked about the bruising to the victim’s arm and neck, to which he advised they all occurred while working for the tow company he is employed by.Based off testimony from both parties, as well as the bruising around the victim’s neck and throat – I placed the suspect under arrest in handcuffs that were checked for fit and double locked. The suspect was searched incident to arrest with no contraband or weapons located. Prior to transport, the victim was provided with victim’s/domestic rights forms.
