Discretion is advised.]On November 9th, 2025 at approximately 2000 hours, I, Sergeant Peavey, was dispatched to the area of Sam Floyd Road in reference to a possible hit and run where a dog was ran over.Dispatch advised the owner of the dog was actively following the person who ran her dog over and left the scene. Dispatch advised the driver turned onto Cary Road and turned off all of his lights while still driving on the roadway. Dispatch advsied the driver possibly turned down Berry Curry Road.I made contact with the driver and she advised the driver did turn down Berry Cury Road and did not come out of the road yet.I made contact with the driver who stated he did hit the dog but the dog was chasing his vehicle in the road. While speaking with the driver, I could smell the odor of a suspected alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s person.I conducted standardized field sobriety testing on the driver and I observed several clues showing he was unsafe to operate a motor vehicle. I asked the driver to blow on a roadside PBT but he refused. I also read the driver Georgia Implied Consent from the green card for breath which the driver also refused.The driver was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and issued citation for driving under the influence as well as hit and run.[End of Narrative].
