On the above date and time deputies responded to [100 BLOCK] Gay Ln in reference to a mental subject. While en route E-911 advised that the subject had been drinking and was threatening to harm himself by running his vehicle into a tree on the property. Upon my arrival I met with the subject Kyri Isiah Newsome who was sitting in his vehicle in the back of the property with it running listening to music. Newsome stated that his grandmother passed away recently, and he was going through a lot at the time. I smelled what I suspected to be the odor of an alcoholic beverage as I spoke with Newsome. Upon speaking to him I was able to get him to relinquish the keys to the vehicle to his girlfriend [WITNESS ] who stated that Newsome did say he was going to harm himself and that he was going to run into a tree, also stating that this was not the first time he said this.
Upon speaking to the property owner [WITNESS ], he advised that he requested Newsome to leave the premises and he did not, however he did not wish to press charges or trespass him because his actions were very out of character and he felt as though things would be different when he “sobered up. “He just wished for all parties to separate for the night stating he was welcome back once he calmed down.
I also spoke to [VICTIM ] who stated that Newsome began drinking and speaking to her in a sexually charged manner, leading to a verbal altercation between the two. [VICTIM ] stated Newsome left the residence after this and came back at a later time in the evening while she was on the phone with her boyfriend telling him what had occurred, once Newsome came back to the residence he entered [VICTIM ]’s bedroom and began laying on top of her in her bed and “touching her inappropriately” over her clothes, however she called out for her grandfather [WITNESS ] and Newsome then went outside getting into his vehicle. [VICTIM ] stated that she did not wish to press charges at this time and did not want an investigator called, as she did not want to speak on the subject further.
Newsome refused EMS and upon speaking to Cpl Clifton was placed under arrest. Newsome was handcuffed, and double locked in the rear where Cpl Clifton would then transport him to the Toombs County Detention Center to be booked and processed. [WITNESS ] stated that Newsome’s vehicle, a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe (silver in color) would be fine to stay on the property until he could return to retrieve it.
No other incident occurred at the time of this report.
