On July 31st 2024
at approximately 04:20 AM, I Deputy Resko was dispatched to [600 BLOCK] Picketts Lake Dr in reference to a dispute.
Upon arrival I met with victim, [VICTIM ] who stated she returned from taking her kids to open house around 9 PM on July 30th. She noticed that a lot of her property was removed from the room that she shares with a William Idol. She stated they got into a argument about him removing her property from the room without her knowing. This argument was only verbal at this time but as the night went on the argument begun to become physical. She stated he would push and pull her and grab her by the arms. She attempted to push him away by pushing and slapping and while doing so he grabbed her by the neck. She stated that when he grabbed her neck she could not breathe until he let go. She then texted someone for help who called [WITNESS ] to go to the house to check on [VICTIM ]. [WITNESS ] is Williams ex-sister in law and had her daughter call 911 when they were on the way to the house. [VICTIM ] stated she just wanted to leave but could not due to William shutting off her phone service.
I then spoke with [WITNESS ] who stated she received a call that [VICTIM ] and William were in a domestic dispute and [VICTIM ] was in danger. Once she arrived she went inside and noticed that the party were still arguing. She observed marks and bruises on [VICTIM ] from the dispute that they were having. She then stated that she witnessed William grab [VICTIM ] by the neck because she picked something up that William did not want her to pick up. That was the only physical part that [WITNESS ] observed happen.
Deputies were speaking with the [VICTIM ] and [WITNESS ] outside in the dark so I shined my light on [VICTIM ] and noticed multiple bruises and red marks on her neck. I then observed bruises on both of her arms along with scratches on her arm.
I then spoke with William who stated they were having a argument due to them following apart. He stated the argument was only verbal and never became physical. I asked if he could explain all the marks and bruises on her and he stated it was because she bruises easy. He stated he turned off her phone so she would not be able to leave him and so she would stay at the house. He stated he loves her and does not want to lose her.
Deputies then placed William in hand cuffs and checked the hand cuffs for proper fitting. The hand cuffs were double locked and William was ed before being placed in the back of my patrol car. Deputies then spoke with [VICTIM ] and [WITNESS ] and provided [VICTIM ] with a FYI card. Deputies explained to her victim rights and explained the Temporary Protection Order (TPO) process and how to obtain a TPO. [VICTIM ] stated she did not plan on staying at the residence and would need to get a new phone so she was informed to the Sheriff’s Office with her updated information when she obtains it.
William was then escorted to the Paulding County Detention Center without incident. Upon arrival to the Detention Center William was transferred to Detention Center staff without incident.
Photos were taken of [VICTIM ]’s marks and bruises and attached to the report.
This call was recorded on S-189 voice pack.
All Deputies went in service.
