Discretion is advised.]On May 30th, 2025, at approximately 2317 hours, I (PCSO Deputy Maack 1418) responded to the address of [6700 BLOCK] Cartersville Hwy regarding a dispute (located in Paulding County, Georgia).Upon my arrival, I spoke with a juvenile male, later identified as [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated he observed his Aunt [WITNESS #1] being physically assaulted by her boyfriend (Richard Redding), in Richard’s 2002 Toyota Camry (bearing Georgia tag [REDACTED]). [VICTIM #1] advised that when Redding began “slamming [WITNESS #1]’s head on the dashboard”, he tried to “Shove [Redding] off of [WITNESS #1].” [VICTIM #1] stated that after trying to prevent [WITNESS #1] from any further physical violence, Redding responded by “punching [VICTIM #1] in [his] face and hitting [VICTIM #1] in the back several times.” I did photograph pictures of the swollen right eye of [VICTIM #1], as well as the laceration to [VICTIM #1]’s right eyelid that was sustained during the altercation.I then spoke with [VICTIM #1]’s father, [WITNESS #2], and confirmed he wanted to press charges on Redding. Once [WITNESS #2] advised he did want to press charges, I also advised him on TPO procedures.I then spoke with Redding, whom I located shortly after leaving the initial incident location, at 531 W Memorial Drive, driving the above-listed Camry. Redding stated that he was never involved in a physical altercation at the location of the above-listed incident. Redding advised [VICTIM #1] is an “unruly kid who is always into trouble, and always starts sh*t.” Redding stated that he and [WITNESS #1] were verbally arguing, and [VICTIM #1] tried “butting in.” Redding stated [VICTIM #1] began shouting at him, so he got out of the above-listed vehicle, and when he did, [VICTIM #1] “came at [him] and started pushing [him].” Redding advised he then “pushed [VICTIM #1] off of him and left.” Redding stated that a large stick also struck him that [VICTIM #1] was wielding, but I did not observe any injuries sustained by any such object. Redding said, “I never hit [VICTIM #1] but if I did, there would definitely be marks on him.” I then placed Redding in handcuffs, with his hands in front of him, due to a pre-existing wrist injury. I then checked the handcuffs for proper fit and put him in the rear of my patrol car. I then transported Redding to the Paulding County Jail, where he was booked in without incident.I then spoke with [WITNESS #2] once more to inform him Redding had been arrested.[End of Narrative].
