Discretion is advised.]On 01/09/2023 at 1031 hours, I, Deputy Childers and FTO Griffin responded to a Suicide Attempt call at [10 BLOCK] Augusta Way, Hiram, GA 30141.While enroute to the residence, we were notified by dispatch that [VICTIM ] placed a gun to her head before leaving the residence. Upon arrival, we patrolled the neighborhood, but were unsuccessful finding [VICTIM ]. We then spoke to suspect Johnathan Wilson via phone call. Johnathan notified us that the two had gotten into a verbal altercation, to which [VICTIM ] placed a gun to her head and pulled back the hammer on the revolver. Johnathan stated that after taking the gun from [VICTIM ], he left the residence with their children to take them to his brothers house. Johnathan stated that he was worried that [VICTIM ] may have also taken his medication which was left in plain sight at the residence.We then returned to the residence. Johnathan’s brother [WITNESS ] then arrived at the residence while on the phone with Johnathan. [WITNESS ] advised us that Johnathan was on his way to the residence and would be arriving shortly. Johnathan then gave us consent to check the residence. After checking the residence, [VICTIM ] was not found inside. While checking the residence, we noticed the back door in the basement was open, indicating that [VICTIM ] may have left through the basement. [WITNESS ] then notified us that [VICTIM ] may have went to their neighbors house.We then knocked on the door of the house directly next to the residence at [20 BLOCK] Augusta Way, Hiram, GA 30142. [REDACTED] then answered the door and notified us that [VICTIM ] was upstairs in the residence. We then went upstairs and spoke to [VICTIM ]. [VICTIM ] stated that her and Johnathan got into a physical dispute, where Johnathan had been demanding that [VICTIM ] open the firearms safe, and [VICTIM ] refused. [VICTIM ] then stated that Johnathan told her “I don’t need a gun to kill you”. [VICTIM ] then told us that Johnathan punched her in the face several times, and [VICTIM ] opened the safe. [VICTIM ] stated that after opening the safe, she ran downstairs and left the residence.[VICTIM ] had what appeared to be injuries on her such as two black eyes, bruises on her arms, and a bruise on her jawline, however these injuries did not appear to be recent. [VICTIM ] also had a cast on her leg due to her falling down the stairs inside the residence where she broke her leg. We then asked [VICTIM ] if there would be any physical evidence inside the indicating her story to be true. [VICTIM ] stated that there were blankets all over the floor, as well as a mattress on the floor that fell from the vertical position due to struggling. At this time, Johnathan and his brother [WITNESS ] arrived to their residence next door. After getting [VICTIM ]’s statement, we went next door and spoke to Johnathan.While speaking to Johnathan, Johnathan denied the accusations and did not hesitate to show Deputies the inside of the residence and give his side of the story. Johnathan then brought Deputies upstairs in the residence to where the altercation took place. Johnathan stated that he was planning to leave the residence with the kids, and was in the process of packing the children’s clothes when [VICTIM ] pulled a revolver from a nearby nightstand. Johnathan stated that [VICTIM ] placed the barrel of the pistol to her head and pulled the hammer back on the revolver. Johnathan then stated that he dove towards [VICTIM ] in order to get the pistol away from her, possibly striking [VICTIM ] on the nose in the process, causing [VICTIM ]’s facial injuries. Johnathan stated that he then placed the firearm into the firearm safe. Johnathan stated that it was at this time that [VICTIM ] then left the residence, and Johnathan left the residence as well with the children.While observing the scene, Deputies noticed that there were not blankets all over the floor like [VICTIM ] stated, and the mattress [VICTIM ] notified us about was on the floor, but had the children’s bags and clothes on the mattress as Johnathan stated. I also spoke with [WITNESS ] and [WITNESS ] who notified me that [VICTIM ] had been calling family the day before on 01/08/2023, stating that she had an affair with Johnathan and did not know what to do, and overall did not seem like herself.Due to [VICTIM ]’s previous injuries due to falling down the steps, and no apparent evidence of new injuries, there was not enough probable cause to make an arrest on Johnathan at this time. [VICTIM ] was notified of the Temporary Protection Order (TPO) and was given resources to take action on one, as well as getting help for possible domestic relationships. Johnathan and his brothers agreed to leave the residence with the children for a short period of time in order for [VICTIM ] to feel comfortable returning . After giving both parties all resources needed, we returned in-service.[End of Narrative].
