Discretion is advised.]On 11/15/2024, at 1220 hours, I responded to the area of 4865 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, Paulding Station Plaza, in reference to a hit and run.Upon arrival, I made with [VICTIM ] who stated the following: He was leaving the parking lot and stopped when he saw a car in front of him backing out of a parking space. While [VICTIM ] was stopped, he was struck on the passenger side door by a maroon 2008 Mercury Milan (GA tag: [REDACTED]) that had backed out of the parking spot. [VICTIM ] then moved his beige 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier (GA tag: [REDACTED]) and parked in a parking spot to speak with the other driver, later identified as Chyrisse Granderson.The passenger, [WITNESS ], got out of the passenger side to speak with the other driver, Chyrisse. [WITNESS ] advised she asked the driver for her ID and insurance, but that the driver kept stating, “I have to go.” [WITNESS ] advised the driver showed her a picture of insurance information, and [WITNESS ] took a picture of the insurance and of the vehicle tag. [WITNESS ] then advised the driver that she would be calling the police, and that the driver stated again she had to leave, and drove away. [WITNESS ] then called her daughter to explain that the driver left, and to assist her in calling the police.[WITNESS ] showed me the image of the insurance that the driver provided, and the Mercury Milan was not a vehicle listed on the insurance card, and the name on the insurance card was [REDACTED]. I asked [WITNESS ] if the driver provided her name, and [WITNESS ] stated, “no.” The driver could be seen in the picture that [WITNESS ] took, and was a black female wearing a bright pink long-sleeve shirt and pants.The damage on the Chevrolet Cavalier was on the passenger side door, and [WITNESS ] advised that the damage on the Mercury Milan would be on the left side rear bumper. I issued a BOLO for the suspect vehicle. When I ran the suspect vehicle tag, the address returned to [50 BLOCK] Royalty Lane in Hiram. I then drove to the address to look for the vehicle.Upon arrival at [50 BLOCK] Royalty Lane, I observed a maroon vehicle parked outside the residence, and a female (Chyrisse Granderson) wearing bright pink clothing was sitting in the driver seat. I made with the driver. I asked if she had been involved in an accident, and she stated yes. She also stated that she had provided her ID and insurance information to the other party. I then asked the driver for her driver’s license and the insurance information that she provided. Chyrisse could not find the insurance information she had shown [WITNESS ]. I asked Chyrisse why she left, and she first stated that the other party could not speak English and that there was a misunderstanding. Chyrisse had told the other party that she needed to leave, and did not know they were calling the police.Chyrisse did not provide the proper identification and vehicle information to [WITNESS ] prior to leaving the incident location. I placed [CHYRISSE] under arrest for hit and run. I ed Chyrisse’s person before placing her in the back seat of my patrol vehicle. I then transported Chyrisse to the Paulding County Detention Center without incident and turned her over to jail staff. I issued Chyrisse a citation for hit and run. I then gave the violator and court copy to Sergeant Eakley # 983.[End of Narrative].
