On August 27th, 2024
I, Deputy Valentine-Nelson 307 was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Lanier Ct in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival I made with the complainant and victim, [VICTIM ]. [VICTIM ] stated he was inside his bedroom when his dad, Bobby Johnson and [VICTIM ]s brother, [REDACTED] entered his room without permission.
According to [VICTIM ], Bobby began to start blowing out his candles and causing a disturbance in his room. I asked [VICTIM ] why Bobby may have done that and [VICTIM ] stated Bobby is upset because [VICTIM ] does not listen to what Bobby says. While Bobby was messing with items in [VICTIM ]s room and blowing out his candles, [VICTIM ] left the room and went down stairs.
[VICTIM ] then stated when he went down stairs [REDACTED] and Bobby followed [VICTIM ] still yelling at [VICTIM ] and cursing at him. [VICTIM ] stated he thought they were going outside to fight but Bobby cornered him in the living room holding a knife stating, “I’m going to fu*k you up”. Bobby then using a balled fist, struck [VICTIM ] in the face and I observed that there were no marks left by Bobby striking [VICTIM ]. [REDACTED] was in the middle of [VICTIM ] and Bobby trying to keep [VICTIM ] and Bobby from fighting. [VICTIM ] provided me with video from the Ring security camera in the living room of the physical altercation that took place in the living room.
While speaking to Bobby and [REDACTED], they advised me that [VICTIM ] has been using a knife the day of the incident carving into the sheet rock of his bedroom. The carvings were found on multiple walls of the bedroom and pictures were taken. I questioned Bobby about pulling a knife on [VICTIM ] and Bobby stated “I had the knife in my hand and showed it to him”. Mobile Crisis was called by family on scene and Deputy Resko and Corporal J. Martin stayed on scene to wait for Mobile Crisis.
I then placed Bobby under arrest for Aggravated Assault Family Violence, and Simple Battery Family Violence without incident. I double locked the hand cuffs and checked for fit. Bobby stated the cuffs were not uncomfortable or causing any pain. Bobby was patted down for contraband in which none was found. All of Bobby’s personal belongings were left with family on scene per the request of Bobby. When I arrived at the jail, Bobby was turned over to Jail staff without incident.
Upon going back in-service, I arrived back on scene to relive Corporal Martin and Deputy Resko and waited for mobile crisis to arrive. Mobile crisis arrived at 0130 hours on 8/28/2024
and deemed [VICTIM ] to not be in a state of crisis. [VICTIM ] went back inside to his bedroom without incident.
I had significant evidence recorded by a Ring Security Camera with the date and time of the incident, located in the living room that was provided by [VICTIM ]. I later obtained warrants for Bobby for Aggravated assault and simple battery.
