[VICTIM ] states that while inside her residence of [100 BLOCK] Harriers Way, Timothy Andrew Engert, her live in boyfriend assaulted her and has done so on numerous occasions. [VICTIM ] states that on August 21, 2024
at or around 1000 hours (am), she and Engert were having a conversation about [VICTIM ]’s children and that she had been in communication with the father of the children. [VICTIM ] states Engert became irate and accusing her of cheating on him.
[VICTIM ] states that Engert came across the couch and began striking her in the face and choking her. During the [VICTIM ] statement, marks were observed on the left side of the neck area consistent with that of the statement. [VICTIM ] then took off a pair of sunglasses she was wearing and a visible reddening to the eyeball and bruising to the right eyebrow and eye socket area. [VICTIM ] complained this is an ongoing problem and up until this point has not been able to get away from Engert. [VICTIM ] states that during this altercation Engert made the comment that he would kill her, her family, and make her unrecognizable.
[VICTIM ] states that it took approximately twenty (20) minutes to calm Engert down enough to stop doing bodily harm to her. The marks noted above were the only visible signs of an assault occurring during the investigation of this case. [VICTIM ] did inform dispatchers that Engert was wanted out of Whitfield County, which was confirmed through communications between both agency’s.
Units responded to [100 BLOCK] Harriers Way to attempt to locate Engert who was supposedly still inside the residence when [VICTIM ] left the residence. As units entered the driveway a male subject matching the description of Engert appeared in a front facing window to the street and quickly disappeared. Units noticed an unsecured front door. After an extensive time knocking on both the front and back door it was determined entry was to be made to locate Engert. Units made unforced entry into the front door and began clearing the residence. Engert was located hiding under a bed in interior bedroom without any visible injuries of the hands or face that would be consistent with an altercation of any defensive wounds from [VICTIM ].
Engert was placed under arrest and transported to the Murray County Sheriff’s Office without incident. While at the Murray County Detention, Corporal J. Pitts read Engert his Miranda Warning and agreed to speak without representation. Engert wrote a statement to his involvement in this case. Engert admitted in a written statement that he did slap [VICTIM ] after she left him in Tennessee ad began arguing with him once they were both in the same residence. Engert did not admit to making the statements to kill [VICTIM ] or choking her.
[VICTIM ] had no other complaints of injury to herself as a direct result of this call for service. upon delivering [VICTIM ] back to her residence at [100 BLOCK] Harriers Way, [VICTIM ] was given information to the Domestic Violence outreach and advised of her victim rights. Photographs were taken of [VICTIM ]’s injuries and attached to this report through the Docs tab.
