at 1816 Deputy Burch, SFC Watson, and myself, Deputy Maddox, were dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Hooker Rd, dispatch advised us that EMS stated the man said someone shot his wife.
Upon arrival EMS stated that the man (John Patterson) stated someone shot his wife and killed another person. John was sitting in a chair on the porch while EMS was trying to get his blood pressure, John saw me and stated he was getting nervous and could not sit still for EMS to get his blood pressure. John stated that someone shot his wife and that he had someone else in the residence.
John jumped up and ran into the residence yelling and cursing, Deputy Burch, SFC Watson, and I all followed him into the residence where I heard a loud bang and another voice. Deputy Burch ordered John to come back outside, John then walked back outside and SFC Watson told me to go with John and have him sit down. I followed John out to the yard and instructed him to sit back down on the porch, John complied and walked back to the porch where he sat in a chair and EMS started to check his blood pressure again.
John was talking out of his head making no sense with his sentences. Deputy Burch came across the radio asking me to come inside the residence. SFC Watson stayed with John while I entered the residence to assist Deputy Burch. Deputy Burch showed me a silver in color spoon with what looked to be narcotic residue and a needle, he told me to go and detain John immediately. I went back to SFC Watson and told him what Deputy Burch told me. Deputy Burch walked out with [VICTIM ] who was the man in the residence, SFC Watson walked over to talk to Deputy Burch while I stayed with John.
SFC Watson walked back over to me and told John to stand up and John refused to, SFC Watson and I assisted John in standing up while I put him in handcuffs, checked for fit, and double locked. SFC Watson and I escorted John to the patrol car and attempted to get John to sit in the patrol car in a upright position to which he did not and laid on his back. SFC Watson told me to standby with John as he assisted Deputy Burch.
Deputy Burch came back to the patrol car with a bag that contained a white powdery substance, a revolver with no trigger group, 1 silver in color double barrel .22 pistol appearing to be operational, a needle, 2 marijuana grinders, and silver in color spoon with what looked to be narcotic residue.
[VICTIM ] left with EMS to go to Murray Medical Advent Health. SFC Watson and I transported John to the MCSO Jail, while on our way there he was talking out of his head again not making any sense. John told the jail staff his name was “Rico”. John was turned over to jail staff with no further incident.
I took one warrant on John Daniel Patterson Jr. for Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. John had a firearm in the residence, a SIC double barrel .22 pistol.
I took one warrant for Disorderly Conduct on John Daniel Patterson Jr. for going back into the residence yelling and cursing at [VICTIM ] who was found by law enforcement laying on the floor.
