Discretion is advised.]On 9/27/2025 at approximately 2130 hours, I was sitting in a stationary position within my marked City of Forsyth patrol vehicle, near the area of I-75 North and mile marker 186, located within the jurisdiction of Forsyth, Georgia. While at that location, I observed a sedan approaching my stationary patrol vehicle, with its caution lights on, occupying the emergency lane. The vehicle stopped approximately 20 feet from my patrol vehicle and a black male exited the driver’s side of the sedan.The male walked up to my passenger side window and stated he wanted to go with me and he wanted to know if he could set in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle. The male stated he was going through a crisis, and he suffers from bipolar schizophrenia, and manic depression. The male stated he wanted me to call his momma and his wife and tell them he was driving to Ellenwood to get his good paying warehouse job back. As I continued to speak to the male, he identified himself as Jarrett Nelson. I asked Nelson where was he coming from. Nelson stated from Riverside in Macon.Nelson began to explain that he had been admitted into an institution in Atlanta, but he did not want to go back. Nelson stated the food was good, but the people made him take medicine that he did not like taking. I called for a secondary unit to respond and upon that officer’s arrival, I called Nelson’s mother and wife. Nelsons mother appeared to be frantic and stated, she and her family had been trying to find Nelson all day long and was extremely worried about his mental state of mind.Nelson’s mother stated she had been in communication with Nelson’s therapist in an attempt to have him re-admitted into a institution, but currently nothing had been finalized. I asked Nelson’s mother had a 10-13 order been generated. She stated no. I asked had they called 911 and reported Nelson missing in Bibb County. Nelson’s mother stated no. I informed Nelson’s mother I could not hold him if he wished to leave and they would need to come to my location to take custody of him.While I was speaking with Nelson’s family members over the telephone, I observed Nelson beginning to break dance in the grass and continue to ramble able building a car and speaking about his mental health issues. While listening to Nelson, I overheard him cursing and stating F*ck, while speaking to his family members on the phone. I was able to establish probable cause to cite and charge Nelson with Disorderly Conduct (15-8) subsection 8.Nelson was placed in handcuffs behind his back, double locked and checked for fit. Before placing Nelson in the rear of a marked patrol vehicle, I searched his person. I located an unknown amount of currency in his right pocket and two cigarette lighters in his left pants pocket.The two cigarette lighters were disposed of and the currency was placed back in Nelson’s pocket. The vehicle Nelson was driving was towed by Tracy’s towing. While standing by for the wrecker, Nelsons mother and wife did arrive on scene and made a request for me to remove the firearm from Nelson’s vehicle, before it was towed away. I located a handgun under the driver’s seat.I cleared the weapon and removed the magazine and placed the firearm in the rear of the vehicle that was being driver by Nelson’s wife.[End of Narrative].
