On Monday, July 10, 2023, at approximately 0545 hours, I, Deputy C. Maples was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Wilder Drive in reference to female that is acting irate and has not been taking her medication. Upon my arrival to the area, I could hear a female shrieking and screaming. I located [WITNESS ] at [100 BLOCK] Wilder Driver. [WITNESS ] told me that the female was named Amberle, he stated she was across the street.
At this time, I located Amberle at [100 BLOCK] Wilder Driver. Amberle was naked and screaming while laying over the railing of the ’s front door. Amberle was speaking unintelligibly between shrieks. I announced my presence and identified myself as a sheriff deputy. I advised Amberle that I was there to help her. Amberle did not acknowledge me and continued to shriek and scream.
During this time, Amberle began to sway back and forth on the rail as If to get over. After several minutes she fell off of the railing from approximately 10 feet and landed on her feet. Amberle then attempted to run away, I assisted Amberle onto the ground and again advised that I was there to help. I requested an ambulance to be in route.
While on the ground Amberle began to slap various parts of her body while screaming unintelligibly about bugs and snakes being on her. After several minutes, I assisted her to her feet and escorted her to my patrol vehicle. Once Amberle was secured in my patrol vehicle, she continued to say that bugs and snakes were on her. Deputy Warren and EMS arrived to assist. EMS advised that because she was acting irate and erratic, they would not be able to assist.
At this time, Deputy Warren, and I, assisted Amberle out of the vehicle and began to place her into double locked handcuffs, behind her back. Amberle was eventually secured in the rear of my patrol vehicle. I advised dispatch to Atrium Navicent Police Department to be on standby to assist.
While in route to the hospital, Amberle continued her erratic behavior and shouted several times that she wanted someone to end her life. Amberle was turned over to Atrium Navicent Hospital Police and Medical staff without further incident.
Warrants have been obtained for public indecency, criminal tresspass, and obstruction.
