On 2/26/2020, I Cpl. Brooks responded to the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a complainant wanting to speak with a Deputy about a domestic violence case. Upon arrival I spoke with a [WITNESS ]. [WITNESS ] stated one of her ex-employees came to her work today saying that her mother beat her up. [WITNESS ] stated that the victim was an [VICTIM ]. [WITNESS ] stated that [VICTIM ] was covered in bruises and scratch marks. [WITNESS ] stated that [VICTIM ] was very upset and scared. [WITNESS ] stated she tried to get [VICTIM ] to come to the Sheriff’s Office to report it but she refused. [WITNESS ] stated that [VICTIM ] was last seen walking down Highway 29 South headed back to her residence on Holman Autry Road. [WITNESS ] stated that she did not know [VICTIM ]’s address though. I obtained [WITNESS ]’s information and advised her that I would attempt to check on [VICTIM ] if we could find her address.
I then left the Sheriff’s Office to check the area. I made with a female walking down Highway 29 south in the area of Holman Autry Road. I stopped her and identified her as [VICTIM ]. I observed that [VICTIM ] had scratch marks on her chest, arms, and neck. [VICTIM ] also had bruises on both upper arms and above her right eye. [VICTIM ] stated that her mother, Marjorie Snow did this to her. [VICTIM ] stated that the argument started because Snow told her she was staying on her phone too much. [VICTIM ] stated that Snow grabbed her phone and then grabbed her. [VICTIM ] stated that Snow grabbed her around her neck and attempted to choke her. [VICTIM ] stated when Snow grabbed her around the neck she was able to push her away. [VICTIM ] had scratch marks on the front and backside of her neck. The scratch marks on [VICTIM ]’s neck appeared to be consistent with being grabbed around the neck. [VICTIM ] stated when she got away from Snow she left the scene walking towards Danielsville.
I placed [VICTIM ] in the back seat of my patrol car and gave her a ride back to her residence on Holman Autry Road. Upon arrival, no one was there. Photos of [VICTIM ]’s injuries were obtained and uploaded to this report. I was unable to make with Snow due to her not being on scene, [VICTIM ] didn’t know her phone number, and doesn’t know where she would have gone.
I then learned from [VICTIM ] that she has a child and that the child is with Snow. [VICTIM ] stated that the child was in the bedroom asleep when the altercation took place. [VICTIM ] stated that it is normal for Snow to leave and go stay with a friend in Jackson County and to take her child with her. [VICTIM ] stated that she did not know the address in Jackson County where Snow normally goes. I advised [VICTIM ] that a report would be on file and to call us if Snow returned .
Based on physical/testimonial evidence and Snow not being on scene, I will be obtaining warrants on Snow for Aggravated Assault and Battery FVA.
