hours I, Deputy Harden, of The Houston County Sheriff’s Office, was dispatched to 1103 North Davis Drive, in reference to suspicious person. I met multiply people on the property, and they stated the following:
I spoke with involved other [WITNESS ], and she stated the following:
There was a strange man hanging around Marble Masters Of Middle Georgia at 1103 North Davis Drive, who was later identified as Wesley Purvis. She had to open the side gate for a trash truck to come through. When she opened the gate, Wesley ran toward the gate. She closed the gate, so Wesley would not enter.
Wesley yelled at her, while her 14 year old daughter [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was standing beside her. Wesley yelled “stand up and fight like a man” at them. She was afraid he might hurt her and her daughter. She went back inside of the business, to let her boss [WITNESS ] know what was going on.
[WITNESS ] came to the gate, so she could let the trash truck out of the gate. Wesley started to yell and cuss at [WITNESS ] saying, “this is his property”. When Wesley left the property he went across the street, then started to yell and cuss at another man across the street.
I spoke with involved other [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and she stated the following:
She saw a strange man in the area, who appeared to be on drugs. She saw him across the street from Marble Masters Of Middle Georgia. He appeared to be messing with things across the street. The property owner yelled at him to leave the property. He circled around the property, then he left.
Wesley went to another property beside the business they were at. He began to yell and cuss at the man on that property. Wesley began to come toward her and her mother, while yelling and cussing. He began to yell and cuss at the trash truck driver as well. Then he walked toward the side of the fence, then attempted to climb the fence. He fell from the fence, then he started to walk away. He started to walk East on Wyler Ave.
I spoke with involved other [WITNESS ], and he stated the following:
[REDACTED] told him about the male on the property. He told his staff to lock all doors to the business. He saw Wesley yelling and cussing at his neighbor. Then he came back to his property saying words he could not understand. He said he was calling 911 then the Wesley left.
All parties on scene describe the Wesley as white, with a bald head. He was wearing a dark colored shirt and blue jeans.
While on scene, we received a call from [200 BLOCK] Travis Street. The caller stated a male was on the property yelling and cussing.
I arrived on scene at [200 BLOCK] Travis Street, when I noticed a male matching the description I was given. Wesley was in the front yard of the property yelling and cussing. He was not wearing a shirt at the time. I made with him. Wesley was yelling incoherent things, that I could not understand. He was holding a water bottle in his right hand, while he was clinching his left fist. He was sweating profusely, while saying his mouth was dry. I ordered Wesley to put the bottle down and place his hands behind his back. He complied with my command, then I placed him in handcuffs.
Wesley was escorted to the front of my patrol vehicle, so he could be ed. I was ing his left jean pocket, when a small bag fell out of the pocket. The bag had a white crystal like substance in it. The bag was placed on the hood of my patrol vehicle, as I continued to him. I found a brown wallet in his back right pocket, which had his I.D. inside. He was identified as Wesley Purvis from the picture and name on his license. I advised Wesley he was under arrest for disorderly conduct. I check the handcuffs for fit and they were double locked for safety. Then he was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle.
Sergeant Daugherty took possession of the bag with the white crystal like substance in it. He turned the bag over to Sergeant Smith to be tested.
I radioed dispatch I had one male in custody, and I was en-route to The Houston County Detention Center. Upon our arrival at The Detention Center, I told Wesley he was trespassed from 1103 North Davis Drive and [200 BLOCK] Travis Street by the property owners, and I explained what the trespass meant.
While at the jail I called Sergeant Daugherty, to see what the test results from the white crystal like substance were. He told me the substance tested positive for methamphamine.
I told Wesley he is being charged with disorderly conduct ocga 16-11-39 and possession of methamphamine ocga 16-13-30. Then he was turned over to the Detention Center.
The bag containing the methamphamine was drop as evidence at The Houston County Sheriff’s Office, to be submitted to the GBI crime lab.
