On 07/08/2024
, at 0724, Ofc, Jump, and I, Ofc. Hess, were dispatched to [1000 BLOCK] Corder Rd. in reference to a 911 hang up. Upon arrival. we met with the caller, [VICTIM ].
Mrs [VICTIM ] advised she was in an argument with her husband and that was all. She was very hesitant on advising officers the reason why she called 911. Mrs. [VICTIM ] had scrapes on both knees. When asked about the scrapes, she advised she was running and tripped and fell, but would not advise the reason why she was running. Mrs. [VICTIM ] appeared distressed and did not wish to speak about the incident. She was visibly shaking and crying and appeared to be afraid. Upon further questioning she advised she was chased out the front door by her husband. She advised repeatedly he did not touch her and she would not elaborate how she was chased.
Mrs. [VICTIM ] allowed us to observe the doorbell camera footage inside the residence. There was an obvious verbal argument between her and her husband but the camera did not capture the start of the incident. Video footage began as Mr. Mims was walking back into the residence.
While Officers were leaving the residence, her husband, Ronald Mims pulled on scene. Mr. Mims advised his wife had been cheating on him with a male from work. They were arguing about the incident earlier this date. Mr. Mims advised his wife stated “you might as well just kill me.” Mr. Mims advised when she said this, he advised he could kill her and only serve a minimal sentence because the affair would make this a crime of passion. He advised again when she made the statement about him killing her he said “okay” and he then went in the kitchen, got a knife, and approached his wife with the knife in his hand. He advised she ran outside and he followed. He advised as she was running from him, she fell and scrapped her knee.
Due to the confession from Mr. Mims and physical injuries to the victim which are consistent with Mr. Mims testimony, I placed Mr. Mims under arrest for aggravated assault – family violence. I secured him in handcuffs behind his back, double locked and checked for fit. I transported him to my patrol car, then transported him to the Warner Robins Police Department for booking.
I will seek warrants out for Mr. Mims for aggravated assault – family violence later this date. Photos of Mrs. [VICTIM ]’ knees will be attached to this report.
