On Sunday, July 14, 2024
, at approximately 2157 hours, I was dispatched to [500 BLOCK] Sullivan Road Lot [REDACTED] in reference to a domestic in progress.
When arriving on scene, I could hear a male yelling from outside of the residence. After knocking on the door, a male subject identified as Philip Leverette (W/M, DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/1972) walked outside. Philip’s speak was a little slurred and he spoke with a thick tongue. I advised Philip to have a seat while I spoke with [VICTIM ] (W/F, DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/1994) who called the incident in. I had [VICTIM ] go back in the residence so she could sit down due to her being very shaken. [VICTIM ] advised Philip had been drinking and gotten out of control. [VICTIM ] stated Philip started hurting himself and tell her she would call the police and she would go to jail.
[VICTIM ] stated she was terrified to call the police because she did not know what Philip was going to due. [VICTIM ] stated as the night continued, Philip got more out of control to the point she was fearful of what he was going to do to her or her sister [VICTIM ] (W/F, DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/1981). [VICTIM ] stated whenever she would try and get away from Philip, he would just follow her and antagonize her. [VICTIM ] stated at one point, Philip followed her to her bedroom, closed the door and refused to let her leave. [VICTIM ] stated he kept using his body to push her against the wall and she kept yelling for him to stop she was pregnant.
[VICTIM ] stated while doing all of this Philip had a knife in his hand. [VICTIM ] stated Philip would cut himself and then point the knife at her and said look at this bich, look at this bich. [VICTIM ] stated she feared what Philip was going to do with the knife. [VICTIM ] stated Philip finally left the room and she was able to get out. [VICTIM ] stated Philip walked outside and she closed the door. When Philip came back inside, he kicked the door open causing damage to the frame, the door and the metal plate.
[VICTIM ] stated she could hear what was going on but tried to stay out of it due to her being disabled. [VICTIM ] stated when she finally came out of her room, [VICTIM ] was crying, and Philip was yelling around. [VICTIM ] stated she and [VICTIM ] ended up being pinned in her bedroom and Philip would not let them out. [VICTIM ] stated anytime they would try to leave the room, Philip would come at them and intimidate them to stay inside. [VICTIM ] stated Philip was throwing things around the house and tearing up whatever he could. [VICTIM ] stated she had never seen Philip out of control like he was tonight.
I tried to speak with Philip, and he stated he did not do anything, and [VICTIM ] was the one who attacked him. Philip had dried blood on his knuckles where it appeared he had punch something. Philip stated if I was going to take him to jail to just do it, but he did not cause any damage. Philip was placed into custody, handcuffed to the rear, checked for fit and double locked for safety. Philip was ed incident to arrest where two small knives were found in his pocket. Philip was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle for transport to the Houston County Detention Center for processing.
Philip was charged with Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment and Criminal Trespass Damage to property.
