On Tuesday, September 24, 2024
, at approximately 1007 hours, I Dep. M. Towns was on duty with Houston County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Division at my assigned school Northside High School (NHS). Assistant Principal [WITNESS ] advised over the radio some several students were fighting outside of the old gymnasium.
INFORMATION:
I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said they were walking out the door headed to the old gym. She said out of nowhere a group of people popped up. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] started arguing with each other. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] started fighting. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she started fighting when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] jumped in the fight.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said they was walking to the old gymnasium for class. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she noticed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was walking behind her and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said when they got outside this is when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to jump on her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said her friend [REDACTED BY AGENCY] jumped in it when she saw them trying to jump on her.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were walking to the old gym for class. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was following them. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to jump on [REDACTED BY AGENCY], but she did not let it happen. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she jumped in the fight to help her friend.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said her and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] got into a fight when they were in middle school. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] if she wanted to run that fight back. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said once they got outside by the old gym this is when the fight started.
I talked with Niyonna Beard. Niyonna said she saw some girls trying to jump her sister [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Niyonna said she was not about to just stand and watch someone jump on her sister. Niyonna said this is when she threw a couple punches at one of the girls who was trying to jump on her sister.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she jumped in the fight because her sister [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was fighting. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she did not have anything to do with the fight from the beginning.
After completing my investigation, I charged Niyonna Beard,[REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY],[REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with affray and disruption of schools. Warrants will be taken on Niyonna Beard for affray and disruption of schools. [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY],[REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were all issued citations for affray and released to their parents. This incident will be turned over to the Houston County Juvenile Investigation Division for further processing.
