On Saturday, 10/05/2024
, at approximately 0658 hours, I was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Tyson Glen Drive in reference to terroristic threats.
I was originally dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Club Court in reference to a child custody issue. Before arrival at [100 BLOCK] Club Court, Dispatch advised the offender, Joshua Hastings called 911 stating he was going to see his children at this address. Joshua stated the mother of his children was trying to take them away from him and he wanted to protect them. Dispatch advised there was no court order in reference to the child custody issue. Joshua stated to Dispatch he thought when he arrived at the address, he would be killed or incriminated.
Deputy B. Durham advised Dispatch he was going to call Joshua by phone. While Deputy Durham was calling Joshua, Dispatch advised Joshua stated his estimated time of arrival (ETA) was approximately 10 minutes. Joshua was still on the phone with Dispatch, stating he would die for his children.
Corporal Stewart advised Dispatch to instruct Joshua to meet us at another location and not go to the residence. Dispatch advised the mother of the children had history at [100 BLOCK] Irish Moss Court. Corporal Stewart advised Dispatch to make with her to see if she was at that address or at [100 BLOCK] Club Court.
Deputy Durham made with Joshua by phone and instructed him not to go to the residence of [100 BLOCK] Club Court. Joshua told Deputy Durham he would meet us at the residence and the phone call ended. Dispatch stated Joshua’s mother was attempting to get a 1013 order signed on Joshua and Corporal Stewart advised Dispatch to make with her to see if she resided at [100 BLOCK] Club Court.
Joshua called 911 again and started using profanity toward Dispatch, stating he was threatened by Deputy Durham when he called him.
Dispatch was able to make with the mother of Joshua’s children and she stated they were not on scene at [100 BLOCK] Club Court. The mother and children were at [100 BLOCK] Irish Moss Court.
Joshua called 911 again and told Dispatch he was laughed at by Deputy Durham. He also stated again he was threatened by Deputy Durham during the phone call. Joshua told Dispatch he did not care anymore and that he was still at his residence of [200 BLOCK] Tyson Glen Drive. Dispatch advised Joshua started making threats toward law enforcement. Joshua stated officers could come to his residence and that he would be “Strapped.” Joshua stated he had nothing else to loose.
I arrived at [100 BLOCK] Club Court and no one was at the residence. Corporal Stewart, Deputy Durham and I rerouted to Joshua’s residence to make with him. While enroute Joshua made the following statements to Dispatch “He just threatened my life, he ain’t going to be breathing much longer. That’s not a threat that’s just how life works.” “You care more about your power than my children, you can meet God quicker. If you think I have something to loose you are very wrong little boy.” “Fuk the Perry fair I want to kill a cop. I don’t want to say these things I’m just trying to get you guys to pay attention to what has been done to me.” Joshua was referring to the phone call between him and Deputy Durham during these statements. As we continued enroute to the residence, Joshua told Dispatch “I would not park on this property if they have any love for their life. I wouldn’t touch my property but they can come by.” Joshua continued to make threatening statements while on the phone with Dispatch. The statements Joshua made were “Supervisor should probably show up, because if a supervisor talks to me the way that little boy did and threatens my life then ma’am, I grew up with the [REDACTED], he can get it to I don’t give a fuk anymore.” “I’ll stay put, I will strap up and wait.” “I’m fine with self incriminating, I’m just not fine with other people not owning up to their words.”
Corporal Stewart, Deputy Durham, and I made with Officers from Warner Robins Police Department at the Friendship Baptist Church of Warner Robins, 1322 Feagin Mill Road. Corporal Stewart advised everyone he would make the initial with Joshua and I would be enroute with him to assist. He advised everyone else who was assisting to standby at the church and to come if needed.
While we met at the church, Dispatch advised Joshua was still on the 911 phone with them stating “That cop just threatened my life I did not expect that I thought I was going to [200 BLOCK] past the [REDACTED] property to see my babies but if that’s whats going on then my life and other people’s lives will cut short then.”
Corporal Stewart and I made with Joshua in the front yard of his residence. As we approached Joshua he repeatedly told us to not come on his property and that he was still on the phone with Dispatch. Corporal Stewart instructed Joshua to turn away from him so he could be patted down for weapons. Joshua hesitated and asked why he was being arrested, Corporal Stewart advised he just wanted to make sure Joshua had no weapons on him. Joshua put his hands in the air and turned around. Corporal Stewart checked him for weapons and I detained Joshua in handcuffs. The handcuffs were checked for proper fitting and double locked.
Corporal Stewart explained to Joshua he was going to investigate his complaint about Deputy Durham threatening him, but that did not give Joshua the reason to call 911 and make threats or use profanity toward them. Joshua stated he needed them to know that Deputy Durham knew his address and that he threatened his life. Corporal Stewart escorted Joshua to the front of his patrol vehicle and investigated Joshua’s side of the complaint against Deputy Durham. ([REDACTED BY AGENCY]).
After Joshua told his side of the phone call with Deputy Durham, he was arrested for Misuse of 911 (Misdemeanor) and Terroristic Threats (Felony).
Joshua was secured in the backseat of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Houston County Detention Center. He was turned over to the detention staff and booked on his charges.
The warrants were taken at the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
