On 10/13/24, I, Dep Kelley was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Brookhaven Ct. in reference to a possible gun shot wound to the head. The caller advised Dispatch that he was shot in the head, there were people still inside the house, and then advised he was shot a second time.
Upon arrival, Deputies surrounded the house, and Dispatch asked the caller to come outside. The male answered the door with an elderly female next to him. Once the male came outside, it was determined he was not shot, and he was identified as Cedric Jones. Cedric stated he may have been bit by a snake, but there was also no physical evidence of that. EMS checked the male out since he requested to go to the hospital but once inside the ambulance, he decided he did not want to go to the hospital. Cedric then advised Cpl. Frizzell that he said he was shot so we would get there faster. Ultimately Cedric advised he needed no assistance from EMS or law enforcement after both were on scene.
Cedric was placed in custody for False Report of a Crime and Unlawful Conduct During a 911 Call. [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] were also on scene. During a sweep of the residence to verify there was no offender inside, deputies located methamphetamine and marijuana joints in Cedric’s room. It appears that Cedric had snorted the methamphetamine due to residue on the desk. The remaining illegal substances were collected and turned into evidence to be destroyed.
Cedric was handcuffed behind the back, handcuffs were checked for fit and double locked, then placed in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle. Cedric was transported to the Houston County Detention Center for processing. I will be seeking warrants next available date.
