On 08/30/2024
, at approximately 2031 hours, I, Deputy Y. Bruney, was employed at the Houston County Sheriff’s Office and assigned to the McConnell Football stadium as a Security Officer. On the above date, I was informed about an indecent exposure outside the visitor’s gate, near the fence.
Information:
While conducting security check-in’s at the visitor gate, Dep. Nelson caught my attention by yelling out my name then said “lets go” and pointed toward the wooded area on the outside of the fence. When I looked at the direction Dep. Nelson pointed, I saw offender, Brenton Lane, blatantly peeing on a tree, appearing not to cover himself. The tree he was peeing on was approximately 1 foot away from the fence and Brenton was approximately 2 feet away from the tree, exposing himself while peeing. Several kids go hang by the fence and there were two juveniles about to walk in that direction until I stopped them.
Then I immediately went to his direction but when he realized that I was coming, he attempted to cover himself up and walk away. I gave him the commands to stop, but he refused. I was able to catch up to Brenton and again instructed him to stop walking, while I grabbed his right arm. Once I had positive control of Brenton’s arm, I still felt resistance because he tried to escape from my grasp, so I used my right leg to sweep both of his legs causing him to fall to the ground while still maintaining positive control of his arm all the way to the ground. He fell to his stomach and I kneeled on his right side, grabbing for his left arm.
Once on the ground, I maintained control of both of his forearms, while Deputy Nelson handcuffed him, with his hands behind his back, double locked and checked for proper fit. I then helped Brenton to his feet, and walked him to my Unit, where I placed him in the back seat. Once Brenton was secured in my Unit, I radioed Dispatch asking for any available Units for transport. Dispatch informed me that all Units were busy.
Conclusion:
Due to the fact that I was on a detail for the Warner Robins vs. Northside rivalry football game, and could not leave to take Brenton to the Houston County Detention Center, I made the decision to release him from custody and file for a warrant on a later date. I charged Brenton with Indecent Exposure (16-6-8) for exposing his Pe*is at/near a High School football game, around several thousands of people. I informed my supervisor, Cpl. Lawrence of the incident that occurred and he advised to complete the report and file for a warrant.
Use of Force Document was completed.
Warrant on Brenton was filed
No injuries were reported while on scene.
