On 12/10/2024
I (Deputy Bennett) along with Deputy Jordan, Lt Bennett, and Deputy Bass was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Christian Dr for a physical domestic in progress.
When myself and Deputy Jordan Arrived on the scene I noticed a blue SUV with the driver’s door open and two individuals fighting in the car. As we ran up to the vehicle the female [VICTIM ] broke free from the fight and ran towards us. I advised Deputy Jordan to talk with her, and I went to speak to the male. As I approached the male Eddricus Wilson he was actively reaching with both hands under the driver seat. As I got close to him he stated “Watch out I’m about to shoot you, bro”. At that moment I drew my agency-issued firearm SN#TPL903 and stepped back taking a cover position behind a truck. I put Eddricus at gunpoint and gave verbal commands. After multiple verbal commands to show me his hands, he continued to refuse while he continued to reach under the driver’s seat for what I believed to be a firearm. Once Lt Bennett arrived on the scene he also put Eddricus at gunpoint while Verbal commands were continued to be given. Once Eddricus was unable to locate the gun the in vehicle he stood up keeping his hands down by his side. He refused more verbal commands to get on the ground and refused verbal commands to turn around. At one point he took off his shorts and his underwear.
When I went to approach him I placed both his hands behind his back placing him in cuffs. As I went to check for proper fit and alignment and to doublelock the cuffs Eddricus began grabbing my hands and pulling away. At that point, the decision was made to take him to the ground for better control. Once on the ground, my legs were pinned under Eddricus while LT Bennett and Deputy Jordan tried to gain control of his body. During this altercation, he began to try and kick at deputies. At this time Eddricus looked up at me and spit striking me in the mouth and upper face. Due to this, I pushed his face away as he continued to spit at me. At one point Eddricus stated, “I’m going to kill that bi*ch”. Once Deputy Bass arrived on the scene leg cuffs were used to help gain control of his legs. He was then placed in the back passenger seat of Deputy Bass’s Patrol car and transported to the Hart County Jail. Myself and Deputy Jordan stayed on the scene and spoke with [VICTIM ].
[VICTIM ] stated that the fight happened because Eddricus was in the living room playing on a gaming console. Due to the time and there being 3 small kids in the house, she asked him to turn it off. She stated he had also been drinking and was drunk at this time. When she asked him to cut it off he got upset and began yelling. He then informed her that he would be going and waking his daughter up [WITNESS ] and leaving the residents. Due to Eddricus drinking she tried to stop him. As he went into [WITNESS ]’s room waking her up [VICTIM ] and Eddricus began to get physical. During the altercation, Eddricus stated he was going to kill himself. He walked outside going to the blue SUV attempting to retrieve [VICTIM ]’s handgun under the driver’s seat. At this time to stop him from grabbing the gun she was on his back fighting for the gun. Once we arrived on the scene she was able to get the gun away from him and walk away. The handgun was a Taurus G2C 9mm SN# RPU4515. While speaking with [VICTIM ] a small cut was noticed on her bottom lip which she stated she thinks happened during the incident. When I asked about the kids inside the resident she stated that the only one to see them fighting was [WITNESS ] who was Eddricus’s daughter, but the other two kids [WITNESS ] and [WITNESS ] heard the altercation. After gathering all information I advised [VICTIM ] of the TPO and eviction process.
Once I left the scene I went to the jail and filled out the statement of charges. Then advised LT Bennett about him spitting in my mouth and face. I then was advised to go to Lavonia St Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital for bodily fluid exchange and have my blood tested for any type of bodily fluid disease and then fill out a First Report injury form.
I will be obtaining warrants through the Magistrate Court Battery FVA, Terroristic Threats, 4 counts of felony obstruction, and 3 counts of Cruelty To children in the 3rd degree.
