On October 13th 2024
, I, Deputy Jenkins, was dispatched and responded to [2300 BLOCK] Fred Pitts Rd, Clarkesville Ga, in reference to an assault that had just occurred.
Upon my arrival, I made with the complainant/ victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who stated that George Thomas IV had pointed a loaded gun at him. Upon speaking to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] further about the incident, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that George was drunk, and had become disruptive, to the point that [REDACTED BY AGENCY], told him to call an Uber and leave the property. At this point, George became irate, and pulled a loaded handgun on [REDACTED BY AGENCY], pointing it again and saying “this is my property now”. I spoke with 3 more witnesses on scene, including [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and George’s girlfriend, [WITNESS ], who all corroborated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] story, two of which, filled out witness statements, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Warrants were taken for Aggravated Assault and Cruelty to Children 2nd Degree.
When asked where George currently was, [WITNESS ] stated that he took off down the driveway and the last time that he had been heard, he was in the woods to the left of the residence. At this point Lt. Hicks was on scene and Banks County K9 was ed. A perimeter was then created while waiting for the K9 to arrive. Once on scene, Deputy Brewer, and Deputy McClain, went with the K9 to attempt to locate George. When it was called over Habersham Dispatch that had been made with the subject near the intersection on Fred Pitts Rd and Hwy 17, I relocated to their location. When I arrived, George was lying on the ground in Handcuffs. A loaded Smith&Wesson M&P 40 (SN# DWB1457) was located in the bush where George was found. I then walked Gorge to my vehicle, where he was ed incident to the arrest. George was placed in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle where he was seatbelted in for his safety.
George was then transported to the Habersham County Detention Center, where he was turned over to jail staff without incident. A check of my rear seat before and after transport resulted in no contraband.
