Discretion is advised.]On November 26th 2024at about 2:34 PM, I responded to the [REDACTED BY AGENCY] located at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] regarding an assault.Upon arrival, I met briefly with the victim, identified as [VICTIM ]. Officer Labruzzo 31, who was working an off duty detail at the rear of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was already speaking with the victim. I observed [VICTIM ] to be bleeding considerably from the back of the head. The back of her neck and back of her shirt were soaked with blood. She also had some bloody cuts to the right finger area.Upon confirming a brief description of the suspected offender, reported to be a black female with orange/red hair pushing a baby stroller, I spotted the suspect walking away from the front office area toward Highway 341. I caught up to the female and requested her to stop and speak with us. Officer Gracia 18 and Hames 53 arrived on scene and began to speak with the suspect as I returned to the victim to ascertain what happened.[VICTIM ] said she had been baby sitting the suspect’s (later identified as Chrishelle Young [REDACTED BY AGENCY] 2006) 7 month old daughter in [REDACTED BY AGENCY] [VICTIM ] said she had an argument over the phone with Young and told her to come get her child. When Young arrived, she gathered her child and placed her in the stroller. [VICTIM ] said Young then came back into the room and punched her in the face. [VICTIM ] said she began to fight back and ended up leaning over the bed face down with her back to Young. [VICTIM ] said she then felt herself being struck on the back of the head with something hard and began to bleed all over. [VICTIM ] said her two daughters were present in the room as the attack happened. Her daughters were identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (13 yoa) and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (9 yoa). [VICTIM ] said Young then left the room after striking her in the head and was holding a pair of black brass knuckles.[VICTIM ] was treated on scene my emergency medical personnel. [VICTIM ] declined transport to the hospital since the bleeding was controlled and stopped.In speaking with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] she stated she observed Young strike her mother on the head at least five times with the brass knuckles.[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she observed the fight, but did not remember seeing the brass knuckles.Ten year old [REDACTED BY AGENCY] from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who was friends with the [VICTIM ], stated she observed the attack on [VICTIM ] whom she considers to be like a step mom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she jumped on Young’s back and started hitting her when she saw the brass knuckles.[VICTIM ] gave permission for me to look through her room. I observed blood droplets in several places on the floor and on a table. Blood spatter also appeared to be along the side of the wall beside the table. Photos of the room were taken and uploaded to Evidnce.com.I then proceeded to speak with the suspect who had been speaking with Officer Hames and Gracia. I was advised by Officer Hames that her Miranda Rights were already read and she agreed to talk about the incident. At the time I spoke with the suspect, she had provided the name of Tariana Crumdey [REDACTED BY AGENCY] 2006. The personal information she provided could not be located in any database, despite her statement of having a Florida ID. She was later correctly identified as Chrishelle Young [REDACTED BY AGENCY] 2006.Young stated she was told to come get her child from [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She said she had words with [VICTIM ] while at the room and asked her if she wanted to fight. Young said [VICTIM ] agreed and they engaged in combat. Young was questioned several times about using brass knuckles during the fight. She denied using them several times.Based off of video surveillance from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] which was observed by Officer Hames, I asked Young about the brass knuckles she was observed to be carrying as she exited [REDACTED BY AGENCY] after the attack. Once Young was confronted with the witness statements and the video proof of her holding the brass knuckles, she admitted to striking [VICTIM ] only once in the head because she was being attacked by several people. Young said since she had previously stayed with [VICTIM ] in the same room for about a month, the brass knuckles were still located on a table. Young said while fighting and being attacked by several people, she was able to grab the knuckles and use them in her defense.Despite Young’s reluctance to divulge the location of the brass knuckles, she finally conceded and removed the knuckles from a side pocket of the stroller located beside the baby. The black brass knuckles appeared to be made of a composite plastic with a motorcycle and skull design on both sides. The knuckles also had a switch, when activated, would allow a retractable knife to eject out from the side of the knuckles. Depressing the switch would cause the knife to retract completely. The knuckles were placed into evidence.Based on the totality of all witness and suspect statements including video evidence, probable cause existed to arrest Young for her role in the incident.
