Discretion is advised.]On Monday January 13th, 2025I, PFC J Taylor R77, was dispatched to [20 BLOCK] Green and Gold Blvd in reference to a domestic dispute.Upon arrival I made with [VICTIM ] and she advised that her daughter Melody Long had physically attacked her. [VICTIM ] stated that Melody had come from school and and was upset because she didn’t want to stay at the residence. During this time an argument ensued and Melody jumped on her mother. As I spoke to [VICTIM ] I observed several fresh scratches and laceration on her arms and around her neck. When asked about the marks on her neck [VICTIM ] stated that Melody had attempted to grab and choke her around her neck. I also noted that I had been dispatched out at the residence earlier that day and at that time [VICTIM ] did not have these injuries on her person. [VICTIM ]’s injuries were photographed and captured by Axon and have been uploaded to evidence.com.I spoke to [WITNESS ] who was in the residence at the time of the altercation and he stated that the whole incident took place in the living room. [WITNESS ] gave the same statement as [VICTIM ].Earlier today I was called out to the residence in reference to DFCS. I met with an agent who advised me that Melody had made statements to her school counselor in reference to being inappropriately touched by her step dad [WITNESS ]. During my previous call DFCS stated that at the time there was not substantial evidence to remove Melody from the . I was also advised by both DFCS and the parents that Melody has developmental problems and has made this accusation a year ago and during that time no evidence was found at the time.I made with Melody and asked her what had happen before my arrival. Melody began to advised me of suspected abuse that had already been reported to DFCS. I asked her what had happened between her and her mother and she was unable to give me a straight answer. While speaking to Melody I observed no other injuries other than some slight redness on the front of her throat.Because of the substantial physical damage and the witness statements I advised Melody that she was under arrest and then placed her in handcuffs. I escorted Melody out of the residence and toward my vehicle. Due to the fact of her age and development mind I visual ed her person and asked her if she had any illegal items on her person. I then placed her in the back seat of my Patrol Unit (177). I then transported and booked Melody in at the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office on the charge of Aggravated Assault – 16-5-21.I the DFCS and advised them of the incident.[End of Narrative].
