Flippo was dispatched to [3900 BLOCK] Rockmart Rd for a domestic. Dispatch advised the complainant stated the suspect was going kill everyone in the house with a gun.When I arrived on scene, the male suspect, Barry Bradley, walked outside with his hands in the air. I asked him if he was the one that had the gun. He advised he was but he already put it back in the safe inside the house. I advised him to keep his hands in the air, turn away from me, and place his hands on the vehicle that was in front of him. I frisked Barry to make sure there were no weapons on him for my safety. All that was found on his person was a pocket knife. When I asked him what was going on, he stated he was on the phone with one of his friends and the conversation became inappropriate. He stated him and his friend was making sexual jokes and Barry’s wife, [VICTIM ], did not like it so she said something to him. He stated they had both been drinking and I was able to smell alcohol on his breath. He stated he grabbed the AR but with no intent to hurt anyone. He stated that when [VICTIM ] and his sister started yelling at him, he grabbed the gun to “scare them”.When I spoke with [VICTIM ], she stated Barry and his friend were on the phone and they were having an inappropriate conversation. She stated she confronted Barry and it made him angry. She stated he screamed at her and told her to go lay down in the bed. She stated he then grabbed an AR out of the safe that was located near the bed and walked toward the kitchen of the open floor . She advised he then cocked the gun and put a bullet in the chamber and pointed it at her. She stated there was also another female, Barry’s sister [VICTIM ], that was in the house but she did leave before police arrived due to being afraid that she would get in trouble. [VICTIM ] stated she then ran outside in fear that Barry was going to kill her. She ran next door to her mother’s house and called 911. Miranda Warning was read to Barry. I placed Barry under arrest and he was placed in the back of my patrol car. I asked [VICTIM ] to show me where the AR was inside the residence. She was able to show me where the safe was, still open. The AR was sitting in plain sight, with a magazine loaded in the gun. The gun was cleared, with one bullet in the chamber and a fully loaded magazine.When I spoke with Barry’s father, [WITNESS ], who was also in the house at the time, only in a different room, he stated he did not see anything. He stated he could hear screaming coming from inside the house but he could not understand what was being said. [VICTIM ] was able to get in with [VICTIM ] who was in the residence at the time it happened. [VICTIM ] stated he grabbed the gun, cocked it, and pointed it at her.During transport, Barry admitted he got the gun because he wanted to scare [VICTIM ] and [VICTIM ].[End of Narrative].
