DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. – Former Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney was arrested on February 6, 2025, in Douglas County, Georgia, in connection with a domestic violence incident, according to law enforcement records.

Authorities issued a warrant for Toney’s arrest on January 15 after a woman, who identified herself as his girlfriend, called 911 the day before. The woman, who was seven months pregnant, alleged that Toney strangled her, making it difficult for her to breathe. She also stated that she and Toney lived together and that she fled to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

Toney faces charges of aggravated assault by strangulation and obstruction of a 911 call. He was released on a $50,000 bond following his arrest.

Toney, 26, was selected 20th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Giants before being traded to the Chiefs. He won two Super Bowls with Kansas City in 2022 and 2023, setting a record for the longest punt return in Super Bowl history with a 65-yard return in Super Bowl LVII. Injuries sidelined him for Super Bowl LVIII.

The Chiefs released Toney before the 2024 season. He briefly joined the Cleveland Browns but was waived in December after appearing in three games.

The case remains under investigation.
