CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. – Savannah native William Mark McCullough has landed a major role in Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated film Captain America: Brave New World, which premiered in North American theaters on Friday, February 14, 2025.
McCullough plays Commander Dennis Dunphy, a U.S. Navy SEAL team member and an old acquaintance of Sam Wilson, portrayed by Anthony Mackie. In the film, Wilson has officially taken up the mantle of Captain America and finds himself at the center of a dangerous international crisis. As the threat escalates, Wilson turns to Dunphy for help in stopping a villainous scheme.
Directed by Julius Onah and produced by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film features an all-star cast including Anthony Mackie, Liv Tyler, Giancarlo Esposito, Harrison Ford, Shira Haas, Danny Ramirez, Tim Blake Nelson, and Carl Lumbly.
