RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. – On March 31, 2025, at approximately 9:22 AM, deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute reported on the 2600 block of Bowdoin Drive. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies learned the incident involved two of their own officers: Deputy Malcolm Bowens and Deputy Raneisha Price.
Deputy Bowens sustained a half-inch laceration to the back of his head after Deputy Price allegedly pushed him in the face, causing his head to strike the corner of a wall. He was later treated for his injuries at a local hospital.
Deputy Price was located at her home on Wheeler Road by responding deputies. After being informed of her Miranda rights, Deputy Price admitted to pushing Deputy Bowens with her arm and hand before leaving the scene.
As a result, Deputy Raneisha Price was arrested and charged with Simple Battery, Family Violence. She was subsequently transported to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
Chief of Staff Lewis Blanchard has placed Deputy Price on non-paid administrative leave while the investigation continues. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is committed to conducting a thorough and impartial review of the incident.
Deputy Price, who joined the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on November 30, 2019, is currently assigned to Field Operations/Road Patrol.
Sheriff Gino Brantley stated, “We hold all of our deputies to the highest standards, both on and off duty. Our agency offers a variety of support and counseling services to prevent incidents like this. However, when an individual violates the law, we will take appropriate action.”
