GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – Gregory Rehberg has pleaded guilty to wire fraud after admitting to submitting fraudulent invoices to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), defrauding the agency of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Richard S. Moultrie, Jr., Rehberg falsified records, concealed subcontractor involvement, and inflated invoices for maintenance work that was never performed. "Our office remains committed to prosecuting individuals who exploit government contracts for personal gain at the expense of taxpayers," Moultrie stated.
The investigation, led by the USPS Office of Inspector General (OIG), revealed that Rehberg’s company, GLR Group LLC, was contracted by EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc. to perform repairs at USPS locations across five states. Rehberg submitted nearly 900 fraudulent invoices between 2019 and 2024, inflating costs by up to 40% and overbilling USPS by more than $730,000. In total, he received approximately $2.9 million in payments.
“This case demonstrates our commitment to safeguarding Postal Service funds and ensuring the integrity of our repair and maintenance programs,” said Kenneth Cleevely, Executive Special Agent in Charge of USPS OIG.
Rehberg, 55, of Atlanta, Georgia, is scheduled for sentencing on May 15, 2025, before Chief U.S. District Judge Timothy C. Batten, Sr.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Natasha Cooper.
