Man Charged with Molestation, Sodomy After Missing Child Found in Motel Room Mugshots

GORDON COUNTY, Ga. – A Pickens County man was taken into custody on Saturday after Gordon County deputies discovered a missing juvenile at a motel near the intersection of U.S. 41 and Interstate 75.

According to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received information that the child, who had been reported missing from a neighboring county, might be at the motel. Authorities located the juvenile and safely returned them to their parents.

Inside the same motel room, deputies found 29-year-old Nicholas Thomas Kowalski of Talking Rock. Following an investigation, Kowalski was arrested and charged with aggravated child molestation, child molestation, first-degree cruelty to children, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and felony sodomy.

As of Tuesday, Kowalski remains in the Gordon County Jail without bond, awaiting a court appearance.
