FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Governor Brian P. Kemp announced on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, that Atlanta has been selected as the site for Duracell’s new global headquarters for research and development. Already established in Georgia with a logistics center in Fairburn and a manufacturing plant in LaGrange, the top-selling battery company will expand its presence with a $56 million investment at Science Square.

Located at 101 Nerem Street NW, near Georgia Tech’s Midtown campus, the new facility will create 110 jobs. Science Square spans 18 acres and features over 1.8 million square feet of laboratory and office space, making it an ideal hub for innovation.

Governor Kemp praised the decision, stating, “Georgia has set itself apart as a leader in attracting innovative companies with our research institutions, world-class logistics network, and pro-business environment. We are excited to welcome Duracell’s R&D headquarters to Atlanta and continue building on this great relationship.”

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens added, “Our city’s transportation infrastructure, diverse talent pool, and thriving tech ecosystem make Atlanta the perfect place for corporate innovation and growth. We appreciate Duracell’s confidence in our city and the investment of over 100 new jobs for Atlanta residents.”

Duracell’s Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Liben Hailu, emphasized the importance of the move, saying, “This is a significant milestone for Duracell as we continue to drive innovation in battery technology.
