DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – A new adaptation of John D. MacDonald’s novel "The Executioners" is set to begin production in Georgia, bringing a fresh take on the psychological thriller "Cape Fear" to Apple TV+.
The 10-episode series stars Amy Adams, Steve Bowden, and Javier Bardem. Adams and Bowden play a married couple whose lives are upended when a menacing figure from their past, portrayed by Bardem, resurfaces. The suspenseful drama follows a convicted murderer who, upon release, sets out to terrorize the couple.
Originally planned for production in North Carolina, filming will now take place at Assembly Studios in Doraville, Georgia. The series boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, with Nick Antosca serving as showrunner.
