Jennifer Freeman) responded to 722 N. Westover Blvd. (Waffle House) in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving an unmarked police car.Upon arrival, was made with Lt. Tangela Henry (APD-Investigations). She advised she was parked in a parking stall at the above location working part time. Lt. Henry advised a white Chevrolet Cruze (GA Tag# [REDACTED]) came flying in the parking lot and whipped into a parking stall in front of her, but then was put in reverse and the driver started backing up attempting to back into a parking stall next to her. Lt. Henry stated she could tell the driver was not far enough (Ford Explorer GA Tag#[REDACTED]) over so she started to blow the horn to let the driver know he/she was about to hit her vehicle; however, the driver backed into the front driver side fender with his/her rear passenger side fender. Lt. Henry said when the vehicle collided with her vehicle, the driver then attempted to flee the parking lot. Lt. Henry stated Sgt. William Tuten was further down in the parking lot and was able to pull out in front of the fleeing driver, who then stopped the vehicle and parked. Lt. Henry stated the driver was possibly DUI and had been detained in the rear of Sgt. Tuten’s vehicle.I obtained all information on the vehicles, the driver’s information, passenger’s information, and took photographs of both vehicles. I asked dispatch to make with GSP to see if they had an available unit; however, they advised it would possibly be over an hour due to having to call someone out. Due to this time lapse and having an offender in custody, I (Lt. Freeman) went ahead and completed the case. was also made with Deputy Flowers with Risk Management and advised him of the incident as well.The offender was identified by his GA Driver’s License as (B/M) Kadarius D. Miller. There was a passenger in the vehicle, who was later identified as (B/M) [REDACTED]. I had Cpl. Baisden respond in reference to completing Field Sobriety,Miller was cited for DUI Less Safe (Citation# G0037862) and Hit and Run (Citation# G0037863).
