Discretion is advised.]On Friday, February 7, 2025at approximately 23:57 hours I, D.S. J. Conley (162), was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to an assault.While en-route, 911 advised that Kevin Whitehead had fled the scene into the woods behind the residence. On arrival I met with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [WITNESS ]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was sitting on the porch stairs holding a towel to the back of her head. The towel was covered in blood. She stated that she was standing on the front porch by the door when her boyfriend, Kevin, threw a beer bottle at her head from inside the residence. She stated that her and Kevin were arguing before this occurred. EMS arrived on scene and transported [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to Newnan Piedmont Hospital.I then spoke with [WITNESS ], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] sister. She said she was standing on the porch next to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] when she suddenly felt beer on her after hearing glass break. [WITNESS ] stated that shortly after this, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] started holding her head and screaming. I was later told by [WITNESS ] that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Kevin had begun fighting at around 23:00 hours because Kevin’s Daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], was talking to his ex-girlfriend. During the beginning of the fight, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had kicked the glass out of their fireplace and punched their living room TV.Next, I talked to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] daughter. She stated she was standing in the driveway by the front porch. She saw Kevin throw a bottle at her mother’s head. When her mom started screaming, she ran towards the back of the property and called 911. While on the phone with 911, she witnessed Kevin run into the woods behind the house.I met with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] last. She said she was on the steps of the front porch when her father threw the bottle. She saw the bottle hit [REDACTED BY AGENCY] head while standing there.Kevin eventually came out of the woods and turned himself in. He stated he did not want to hurt [REDACTED BY AGENCY], he just wanted to stop her from destroying the house. He was handcuffed and transported to the Coweta County Jail. Kevin was charged with Aggravated Assault and Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree.
