Fielding #04 and Deputy Mollohan #17 was sitting stationary in the rear of Highway 27 / Back Penn Road in the parking lot of New Covent Tabernacle Church Parking Lot when a dark blue in color Chevy Silverado and a tan SUV pulled into the parking lot in front of us.I made contact with the Complainant/Witness later identified as [WITNESS #1] who stated that he and his friends were at Wal-Mart and one of his friend’s was in a verbal altercation with another male inside the store and the other male pulled a knife out on his friend. I asked where the Victim/Suspect #1 later identified asGarrett Yandelland information on the Suspect #2 later identified as Joseph Wallin. The Complainant advised the Suspect left in a blue Ford Ranger travel back towards Summerville and that he could call the Victim/Suspect #1 and have him en route to meet us. I advised him to do so as I gave a BOLO out to surrounding agencies for the Suspect #2’s Vehicle. Cpl. Fielding and Dep. Mollohan went en route towards Summerville to try and intercept the Suspect #2 truck.While waiting on the Suspect #1 to arrive on scene I had everyone on scene fill out a witness form along with gathering information on The Suspect #2. The Suspect #1 arrived on scene and I asked him about the incident and he advised that him and his friends when he saw Suspect #2 walking in the store as well and stated that he just asked for him to quit talking bad about him to other people and simply kept walking. Suspect #1 stated that Suspect #2 said something back and he went to walking towards him so he could hear what he said and that was when Suspect #2 pulled out a pocket knife and told Suspect #1 he was going to “stab him.” I asked Suspect were at inside the store did this incident take place at and he advised that it was in the main aisle on the Pharmacy side walking towards the back of the store. I gave Suspect #1 a witness statement and advised him to fill it out while I went to Wal-Mart and see if they have footage of the encounter.I arrived on scene at Wal-Mart and made contact with AP [WITNESS #2] and he was able to found the footage of the incident. [WITNESS #2] also told that one of his employees walked up on the witnesses and the Suspects because she heard them yelling at each other but stated that when the employee got there they were all walking out of the store.In the footage I observed Suspect #2 walking into the store and up the main aisle on the right hand side of some displays and while observing Suspect #2 and his body language it appeared that he was looking for someone inside the store as he was looking down every aisle as he approached them. I then observed Suspect #1 appear from the left hand side of the aisle off of another aisle walking towards the exit door and as they pass each other I observed Suspect #2 stop and Suspect #1 say something to him and kept walking at which time Suspect #2 said something back to Suspect #1 and Suspect #1 immediately turned back around and started walking quickly and in a irate manner with balled up fist and the two confronted each other behind a display. I then observe Suspect #1 immediately started running away from Suspect #2 yelling and then Suspect #2 walks out from behind the display hold a pocket knife and I observed him fold the knife back up and put it back in his pocket while looking at the employee who came to see what was going on due to the loud screaming and yelling. I asked [WITNESS #2] if he could make me a copy of the disk and he advised me he could and handed me a copy of the footage.I drove back to the original location while doing so Cpl. Fielding and Dep. B. Mollohan went to the residence of Suspect #2 and was confront by his Grandfather and was asked if they had a warrant and Cpl. Fielding advised him no and the Suspects grandfather shut the door in their face and refuse to speak with the Deputies. I arrived back at the original location and gathered a all my witness statements and other information for a report.[End of Narrative].
