, at approximately 0052 hours, I was dispatched to 1016 Highway 80 (Motel 6), Pooler, Chatham County, GA, in reference to a fight call. The caller advised that his brother had just got hit in the head with a gun by Josh.
I arrived on scene and was able to located the caller, Mr. [VICTIM ], and the victim, Mr. [VICTIM ]. After speaking with both parties, I was able to determine the following. Several days ago their brother, Mr. [VICTIM ], had allowed Mr. Joshua Reddick to use his pickup truck. Mr. [VICTIM ] and Mr. Reddick are current long time residents of the motel. Mr. Reddick had been using the vehicle and at some point had got into a vehicle crash with it. Mr. [VICTIM ] and Mr. [VICTIM ] saw Mr. Reddick today at the motel and they decided to speak with him. They asked Mr. Reddick to return they key to Mr. [VICTIM ], so Mr. [VICTIM ] could go to the hospital. Mr. Reddick declined and they had a verbal argument. During the argument, things turned heated and Mr. Reddick and Mr. [VICTIM ] began to move towards each other. Mr. Reddick had a firearm during the altercation and threatened Mr. [VICTIM ] with it. Mr. [VICTIM ] described the firearm as a 9MM with a laser sight. All parties went back and forth a few more time and Mr. [VICTIM ] was struck in the back of his head. He was unsure what struck him, but Mr. Reddick left the scene after Mr. [VICTIM ] was struck.
Mr. [VICTIM ] had a injury to his head and Pooler Fire Department and Chatham EMS responded to the scene. Mr. [VICTIM ] ultimately declined transport by them. He also informed officers that he would like to press charges on Mr. Reddick. I explained warrant hearing procedures to Mr. [VICTIM ] and gave him a CRN card. I then allowed him to returned to his brother’s room at the motel (Room [REDACTED]).
While officers were still on scene, Mr. Reddick’s mother, Ms. Rozena Reddick, arrived on scene. She ignored officers and made her way to room [REDACTED]. It should be noted that Ms. Reddick is a house cleaner at this motel. She then used her master key and let herself into Mr. [VICTIM ]’s room. She began to yell at the two [VICTIMS] brothers and demanded to know why they call police on her son. Officers ended up removing her from the room and she was arrested.
Ofc. Dorsz read Ms. Reddick her Miranda Warning and she agreed to speak with officers. Ms. Reddick advised her son called her and told her that he was approached by Mr. [VICTIM ] and Mr. [VICTIM ]. Both brothers had pipes in their hands and went after them. She advised she came back to the motel and went into the room for the sole reason to confront the [VICTIMS] brothers. Ms. Reddick declined to tell officers were Mr. Reddick was and as such, I was unable to get his side of the story first hand.

at 0052 hours, I was dispatched to 1016 E HWY 80 in reference to an assault with a firearm. I assisted with backup while Sgt. Drane did an investigation (CRN 240910002). Mr. Reddick was accused of striking someone in the head with a pistol. We could not located the suspect, James Reddick, in the area. The situation calmed down, and the victim went to room [REDACTED].
Ms. Reddick, the mother of Mr. Reddick, came to the business. She is also the general manager of Motel 6. She got out of the car, and appeared to be very agitated. She walked straight to the room of the alleged victim, and used her key card to gain access. I ran to the area, and can hear a loud argument. I entered room [REDACTED], and Ms. Reddick was screaming at the alleged victim. I had to grab her by one arm, and escorted her out of the room. She was detained because she was still being very disorderly outside.
She was read her Miranda Rights, and she agreed to speak to officers. She advised she went to the room to confront the victims on why he came after her son with a lead pipe because thats what her son told her. She advised she is the care taker of someone living in room [REDACTED].
Based on the time of the day, the tumultuous manner of Ms. Reddick, and her going up there specifically to confront the alleged victim, she was arrested on the listed charges. She was transported, and released to the Chatham County Detention Center. She received a court date of December 12, 2024
