On July 13th, 2024
at 1717 hours, I, Corporal A. Coleman, responded to the area of [600 BLOCK] Stuart Street in reference to a white female subject who was walking in and out of traffic and had hit the complainant’s vehicle. The female was described as wearing a tank top and leggings. There were two calls for service regarding the disturbance the female was making.
Upon arrival, as I was on Stuart Street passing Halsey Street I observed the subject pacing frantically back and forth in the middle of the roadway on Halsey Street. I turned around at the cul-de-sac and made my way back to the intersection. The subject, later identified as Lauren Shockey, came rushing towards my vehicle as I stepped to get out. Her behavior was matched by her disheveled appearance (clothes dirty and straps to tank top down near her elbows and hair unkempt). She advised that she was hiding from a male that sells a lot of drugs and that she was afraid of him.
Shockey seemed very scatter-brained in her words to me. She advised that a male had shot her up with drugs and tried to have sex with her. When I had her try to point out the male she became fearful and trying to use me and my vehicle as cover. I did not observe any male subjects in the area she was directing me to look.
Due to her unpredictable behavior and refusing to stay still I wanted to have her sit in my back seat. She ended up asking me herself if she could sit there and I happily obliged. I asked Shockey why we got calls about her and she advised that she was being harassed. She advised that the male she made mention of tried to hit her with a car. The conversation switched to her talking about being addicted to drugs and that she had taken fentanyl. Her erratic behavior continued throughout the entirety of the call.
I was approached by a white male, identified as [WITNESS ]. He stays at [600 BLOCK] Stuart Street. He advised that Shockey was one of her old friends’ exes. [WITNESS ] advised yesterday, Shockey came to the house with a guy he knows as “[REDACTED].” “[REDACTED]” came wanting to stay at the residence but [WITNESS ] told him if he didn’t have the money he couldn’t stay. In the afternoon today he told both “[REDACTED]” and Shockey that they needed to leave, “[REDACTED]” started walking and Shockey began freaking out.
The complainant of the call, [VICTIM ], arrived on scene in her white vehicle. Officer Davis spoke initially with her and then I did later. [VICTIM ] advised that as she left the residence at [600 BLOCK] Stuart Street, she drove down the street to the stop sign. Shockey approached her vehicle and she could tell by just looking at her that something was wrong. [VICTIM ] decided to pull out into the roadway to get away from her thinking she may try to get inside her car. As she pulled into the main street, Shockey came running behind her and eventually went to the Jenkins boys club.
[VICTIM ] made her way back to her residence and while on Stuart near Halsey, Shockey was back and stepped out in front of her car which caused her to slam on her brakes. [VICTIM ] laid on her car horn and in response Shockey laid on [VICTIM ]’s hood and then walked to her driver’s side view mirror and pushed her mirror in (no damage). [VICTIM ] left the street and Shockey continually kept coming back towards her so she got further away. [VICTIM ] had no idea who Shockey was at all.
When I spoke again with Shockey about the car incident, she was adamant that the female I had spoken to was actually a male. Even when telling her otherwise, she remained stuck to her position.
While Shockey was still in the back of my police vehicle I informed her that she would be placed under arrest. She was handcuffed, ed and then placed back in my vehicle.
Shockey was transported to the Southside Precinct where I was relieved by Corporal K. Estep, who transported Shockey to the Chatham County Detention Center to be booked on the charges of:
Pedestrian in the Roadway ///////// OCGA 40-6-96 /////////
Disorderly Conduct ///////// OCGA 16-11-39 /////////
