On 11/17/2024
I was dispatched to 10614 Abercorn in reference to a person being held hostage.
When I arrived to this location I made with Janiqua Green who stated, she had made with the crisis line inquiring about help for her mental health. Ms.Green was visibly afraid and shaken up, I asked Ms.Green what was going on she stated nothing, I asked her was she being held in her motel room against her will she stated “no”. While speaking to Ms. Green I observed several scratches on her neck and her face was swollen. I asked her again what happen she refused to say, then she asked can we step away from the other officers to speak in private.
Ms. Green advised her and her husband ([REDACTED]) had a verbal altercation due to her infidelities. Green stated she had admitted to her husband she cheated on him yesterday. I asked green again did her husband physically abuse her she said “no” “can we give him another chance.” Green refused to answer any questions about her husband. Green was very apprehensive about the altercation and kept saying it was her fault for cheating.
Ms. Green was screened to see if she met the criteria for domestic violence with the domestic violence lethality form provided by Savannah PD. Green was also asked would she like to be transported to a safe shelter with her children and she responded “no.” Green was given a domestic violence pamphlet and was told if she needed further help please see the resources provided. Green also spoke with Det. Metzeger from SVU and provided her with a statement.
