On Tuesday August 6th, 2024
, at approximately 08:54 hours I responded to a Domestic Dispute at the Woodspring Suites located 4912 Augusta Road, Garden City, GA 31408. Upon arrival I was directed to the complainant/ victim/ offender identified as Anthony Moore. When I met with Anthony he was in the washing and drying room of the hotel washing pepper spray off his face. Anthony advised he was pepper sprayed by his ex-girlfriend later identified as Keyanna Weathersbee during an argument in the parking lot.
Anthony advised Keyanna just left in a Gray Chrysler 300. At this time while in route to the location Cpl. Butts advised he observed a Gray Chrysler 300 with a heavy-set black female leave the parking lot of Woodspring Suites headed northbound on Highway 21. This information was relayed to Port Wentworth Police who advised they saw the vehicle and were going to stop the vehicle at Highway 21 and Interstate 95. While units were out with her, I went to Anthony’s room to gather his statement.
Complainant/ victim/ offender: Anthony Moore
Anthony stated he just got back to the hotel after being out last night, and when he got there Keyanna was in the parking lot. Anthony stated the whole reason he was staying at the Woodspring Suites was to get away from her because they just broke up. Anthony stated he told her to leave and that is when the argument started. Anthony stated she was yelling at him “about this and that” while refusing to leave. Anthony stated Keyanna then went into the car and grabbed a hammer. Anthony stated he went up to her and tried to grab the hammer out of her hand. Anthony stated when he got the hammer out of her hand she reached in the car and grabbed pepper spray and sprayed him. Anthony stated he backed up and she left.
While talking to Anthony I observed that he had red eyes, and he removed his shirt that he was wearing. After speaking with Anthony, Ofc. Johnson advised he gathered Keyanna’s statement. I received a video from a citizen that recorded the incident, this citizen refused to identify herself for this report. After reviewing this video and taking testimonial evidence into account I asked Ofc. Johnson to place Keyanna under arrest. Ofc. Johnson arrested Keyonna and transported her back to my location at Woodspring suites.
The video showed Anthony and Keyonna arguing in the parking lot next to the Gray Chrysler 300. The video shows Keyonna and Anthony then get physical over the hammer where Anthony ultimately ends up in possession of the hammer. Keyonna then grabs her pepper spray and sprays Anthony in the face while she is sitting in the car. The video then shows Anthony lunge at the vehicle and swing the hammer in the window striking Keyonna. The video shows Anthony beginning to walk away, and Keyonna put the vehicle in drive and attempt to hit Anthony with the vehicle before leaving.
Ofc. Johnson informed me that Keyonna stated she was struck in the arm by the hammer and there is a mark on her arm. Using testimonial and physical evidence I then placed Anthony under arrest as well. Anthony was arrested utilizing two pairs of handcuffs originally in the rear of his body, checked for fit and double locked. While trying to secure Anthony in Ofc. Hanafin’s vehicle I realized he would not fit safely; I then placed the cuffs in the front prior to securing him in Ofc. Hanafin’s vehicle with a seatbelt. Ofc. Hanafin transported Anthony to the Memorial Hospital for clearance and then to CCDC. Keyonna was transferred to my vehicle where she was secured with a seatbelt. Keyonna was then transported to Memorial Hospital for clearance, while at the hospital I moved Keyanna handcuffs to the front. Keyonna was then transported to CCDC.
Keyanna had a visible mark on her left arm near her elbow which was starting to change color from bruising.
At approximately 15:07 hours I went back to the Woodspring Suites to see if their cameras were working yet to gather more footage of the incident. The employee identified as [WITNESS ] advised the cameras were not working but she saw the entire incident from start to finish. I then asked if I could use her as a witness and took her statement.
Witness: [WITNESS ]
[WITNESS ] stated she was sitting in the office looking out the front window when she observed a black female sitting in a car (Keyanna). [WITNESS ] stated when Anthony arrived (she knows his name because he is staying at the hotel) Keyanna got out of the car with a hammer and started yelling at him. [WITNESS ] stated that Keyanna was yelling “you gave me an STD”, at this time she observed Anthony on the phone with 911. [WITNESS ] stated she heard and observed Keyanna on the phone with her mom while yelling “he called the police on me”. [WITNESS ] stated she observed Anthony walk over and attempt to get the hammer from her and slightly push her into the car. [WITNESS ] stated she then observed Keyanna spray Anthony with pepper spray and then walk back into the hotel.
Ofc. Hanafin and Ofc. Johnson will add their supplemental for their portion of the incident. Keyanna and Anthony are at CCDC awaiting arraignment. I collected the pepper spray, the hammer, and the t-shirt Anthony was wearing as evidence, the evidence was then secured in evidence locker 8 at the Garden City Police Department.
