On July 16, 2024
, at approximately 1547 hours, I was dispatched to a threat with a weapon call at 2514 Bull Street, Popeye’s Chicken.
Upon arrival, I spoke with Mr. [VICTIM ], who stated he was taking an order through the drive-thru. He recognized the voice of the person making a food order as someone who is usually rude. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that when the male, later identified as Mr. Jacorey Bostick, pulled up to the window, he began fumbling with the money before giving it to him. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that Mr. Bostick said something else, but he didn’t remember what was said. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that while handing him their food and drinks, Mr. Bostick said, “Oh, do you all have attitudes in there?” Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that he was a grown man and didn’t mess with little kids. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that after he said that, Mr. Bostick commented I’ll show you a little kid and reached into the back of the vehicle and produced a weapon, pointing it at him.
Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that they do have a camera, but the person who has access to it is at Popeye’s in Garden City. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that there was a girl in the passenger seat with a Carey Hilliards uniform on, and Mr. Botick was wearing a white shirt. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated he knew someone was in the back because Mr. Bostick had passed them one of the two drinks he had ordered. Mr. [VICTIM ] said he could not describe the person because of the windows having a dark tint. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that the weapon was a black firearm with chrome trim. Mr. [VICTIM ] stated that when he got his phone, Mr. Bostick had left, going south on Bull Street. Mr. [VICTIM ] showed me a photo of the license plate on the vehicle driven by Mr. Bostick, which showed a Florida tag [REDACTED].
The other two passengers were later identified as [REDACTED] and Chandler Gibson.
I checked local traffic cameras to determine the vehicle’s direction of travel. I observed that the vehicle was last seen in the Westlake area.
While I canvassed the area to see if I could locate the vehicle, another officer was able to locate it and conduct a traffic stop at [1200 BLOCK] Myers Street. Upon arriving at [1200 BLOCK] Myers Street, Mr. Bostick, Mr. Gibson, and Ms. [REDACTED] were standing outside the vehicle. I placed Mr. Bostick in the back of my vehicle, and the other two were placed in separate vehicles. Detectives arrived on the scene and asked us to transport Mr. Bostick to the central precinct to be interviewed. I stood in the interview room until Mr. Bostick was ready to be interviewed.
A Case Report Number was given to Mr. [VICTIM ]
