On 08/11/24 at approximately 1114 hours I responded to [11400 BLOCK] Largo Dr. regarding a Domestic Disturbance in progress.
Upon arrival I located the Reporting Party/Victim [VICTIM ]. [VICTIM ] advised that she got into a verbal and physical altercation with her child’s father Dontrae Roundtree, she is currently 3 months pregnant with his child. She indicated that the basis of the argument started the night prior at her work. [VICTIM ] advised that Roundtree came to the Arbys at which she worked and began to verbally confront her about her phone. She indicated that Roundtree suspects her of having a secretive relationship with a female coworker. [VICTIM ] indicated that Roundtree ultimately left the Arbys after her coworkers threatened to call the police.
[VICTIM ] then went on to explain that this morning she was using her phone at which point Roundtree grabbed it out of her hands and threw it on the ground. According to [VICTIM ] this led to her confront Roundtree by pushing him away. [VICTIM ] then indicated that Roundtree began strangle her with two hands at which point she attempted to escape from Roundtree by attempting to flee out the front door. However, Roundtree was again able to grab her with one hand by the neck and began to strangle her again according to [VICTIM ]. [VICTIM ] also indicated that he was simultaneously hitting her in the stomach. [VICTIM ] further indicated that she was ultimately able to escape and flee down the street where she was then able to call police.
Speaking with Roundtree, he indicated that he was going outside to the laundry room which was attached to the side of the house. Roundtree further indicated that as he opened the door to walk into the laundry room he was suddenly struck over the head by [VICTIM ] with a Fire Extinguisher. He indicated that he began to defend himself and began push [VICTIM ] away from him.
I was able to observe minor scratches on [VICTIM ]’ right arm and chest area. I did not observe any wounds on Roundtree that would be consistent with a Fire Extinguisher. I did observe a bite mark on the arm of Roundtree to which he indicated he got from [VICTIM ] during the scuffle in the laundry room.
A Detective was called to the scene and made the determination that Roundtree would be placed under arrest. I then placed him in handcuffs, ed him, then placed him in the backseat of my patrol vehicle.
Per Detective Hogan I then transported Roundtree to CCDC where he was booked for Aggravated Assault DVA and Battery DVA.
A Supervisor and Detective responded to the scene.
