On 7/13/24, I, Deputy Boyd, was dispatched to [1800 BLOCK] Mount Zion Rd in reference to a domestic.
Upon arrival, I met with Deputies Eidson Attison and Patterson due to the domestic involving a gun; we cleared the house and found no one. I was then informed that the victims were at a gas station near the residence by the other Deputies on scene. We then cleared a camper on the property and could not find anyone. Dispatch advised the offender we were looking for was a white male wearing camo with a gun.
I then began to the back of the house due to the offender’s wife, [VICTIM ], stating that he walked in that direction. While ing the back of the property, the offender, William Blackmon, called 911 and told dispatch that he was in fear for his life. William stated that he was in the back of the residence in the woods and then hung up. We then gave verbal commands for William to exit the woods with his hands up several times, but he did not respond. While we were giving commands, William called dispatched several times and hung up.
Cpl. Cavender then arrived with his K-9 and began a track while I held the left side of the back of the house and waited for the K-9 to find William. Shortly after the track was started, William was found detained and brought to the front of the property for questioning. Investigator Bristow responded a short time later, read William his miranda rights, while talking to William, he stated that two men tried to jump him because he told them they couldn’t take his wife’s car. William stated that he fired a shot from his Hi-Point 40 caliber pistol in the air, and the two men ran away, and William ran into the woods. I then talked to the victims, [VICTIM ], [VICTIM ], [VICTIM ], and [VICTIM ].
[VICTIM ] stated that she allowed her son [VICTIM ] to take her car to get , but her husband William started to argue with her and told them no. [VICTIM ] stated that at this point, William pointed a gun at his chest. [VICTIM ] told him to pull the trigger, and then his brother [VICTIM ] tried to separate the two. [VICTIM ] stated that he and the rest of the victims were walking away from the porch where the altercation happened towards the gas station when William fired a gun into the ground and began to follow them as they ran away.
I then proceeded to get the victims to fill out statement forms. Investigator Bristow took pictures of the weapon used in the crime. One spent shell casing was found on the porch and collected as evidence. After I collected all the statement forms, I advised William that he was now under arrest for aggravated assault FVA for all 3 of his family members who were victims. He was also charged with aggravated assault for the victim of [VICTIM ].
William was transported to Carroll County Jail without further incident, and the evidence that was taken was placed in evidence locker 22.
