On 7/23/24, I, Deputy Boyd, was called to [20 BLOCK] Andrea Ln in reference to a domestic.
Upon arrival, dispatch informed me that the complainant, [VICTIM ], was hiding behind a nearby house. I began ing for her and found her at [10 BLOCK] Andrea Ln. I then asked [VICTIM ] what had happened. [VICTIM ] stated that her girlfriend, Journee Kabundi, chased her with her car. [VICTIM ] stated that on the night of 7/22/24, she and Journee argued about [VICTIM ] talking to [VICTIM ]’s mother. [VICTIM ] stated that Journee then became physical, holding her down, beating [VICTIM ] with [VICTIM ]’s phone, and, when she got away, throwing the phone. [VICTIM ] stated that the phone stuck her in the face.
I then observed several marks and dried blood on [VICTIM ]’s face and proceeded to ask her if she had any injuries from tonight. She then showed me her hands, which were scrapped and bleeding. I then asked her how she got the injury, and she stated she fell while running away from Journee’s car while being chased. I then asked [VICTIM ] why she would chase her. [VICTIM ] stated that after they had intercourse, they had another argument in which Journee was accused of cheating.
[VICTIM ] stated that Journee left and took all her belongings with her but returned and wanted her cat, which was left in the residence. [VICTIM ] stated that this is when Journee became irate and asked [VICTIM ] why she wasn’t fighting to keep her there. [VICTIM ] stated that she then gave Journee the cat and went inside. [VICTIM ] walked away from the residence and towards the road when Journee began chasing her while driving aggressively in her Hyundai Elantra.
[VICTIM ] stated that’s when she ran from Journee and fell and scraped her hand. [VICTIM ] then ran behind the residence of [10 BLOCK] Andrea Ln and called 911. I then proceeded to the residence of [20 BLOCK] Andrea Ln to speak to Journee.
Journee stated that she and [VICTIM ] had intercourse, but she was accused of cheating afterward. Journee then left while trying to grab her belongings, but [VICTIM ] did not allow her to. Journee then told [VICTIM ] that she was cheating as a prank. Journee told me she left and returned later to get her belongings and cat. Journee stated when she walked returned, [VICTIM ] gave her the cat, and Journee went up in the residence to let her “cool down.” Journee stated that she went outside to check on [VICTIM ], and she was walking, so she got into her car and went to check on her, but [VICTIM ] told her to leave her alone. Journee stated that she then returned to the residence of [20 BLOCK] Andrea Ln to let Journee “cool down.”
I then proceeded to arrest Journee for Aggravated Assault using her car due to [VICTIM ]’s injuries and being consistent with her injuries in trying to avoid Journee hitting her with the car. Before leaving the scene, [VICTIM ] stated she just wanted a ride to her father’s house to get away from Journee and did not want anything else to happen. I advised her how to get a TPO and left the scene. Journee was transported to the Carroll County Jail with no further incident.
