On July 14, 2024
at 0642 hours I responded to [5700 BLOCK] Satterfield Road in reference to a person shot. Upon arrival I met noticed a male (later identified as [VICTIM ]) laying on his back unresponsive next to a gray Nissan Altima Ga tag [REDACTED]. There was a black male (later identified as [WITNESS ]) and a black female (later identified as [REDACTED] sister of the victim ) waving me down.
I made with the victim who had several gunshot wounds to his abdomen and appeared lifeless. I notified dispatched for a an ambulance “10-18” (quickly) who arrived on scene very shortly after. There were multiple 9mm shell casings surrounding a gray Nissan Altima found to be registered to the victim.
While EMS cared for the victim, I spoke to [WITNESS ] who stated he was inside his when he heard there was a fight about to happen. He walked outside his and heard 10-12 shots fired. He stated he knows the victim as “[REDACTED].” [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
I made with [WITNESS ] who stated she is the “baby momma” of the suspect, Jhuquan Dennard. She stated she, Jhuquan, and others drank and cooked out last night. When Jhuquan left, she called the victim, [VICTIM ], to pick her up and take her to the store for cigarettes. While out, [VICTIM ] convinced her to ride with him to family’s house. The whole time, she was on edge because she knew that Jhuquan was going to be soon and didn’t want to be around [VICTIM ].
When [VICTIM ] finally agreed to leave, she told him to drop her off at the top of the road to avoid Jhuquan but he was insistent on dropping her off at the house. As he pulled directly in front of the house, Jhuquan pulls in behind him. The two had words with each other. During the argument, Jhuquan removed a firearm and fired shots into [VICTIM ] then fled the scene.
Inv. Wesley Durbin was notified and later arrived on scene for his investigation.
