On July 4th, 2024
, at around 2359 hrs, was made with MR. JHEFTE PIERRE, after he called 911 and reported being assaulted by one of the clerks and was denied entry into 277 Walnut St. (Marathon Gas).
Upon speaking with both parties and watching video of the incident, it appears Mr. Pierre was the primary aggressor in this incident. He had been denied entry into the location by an employee and was told to leave, due to the employee having observed him panhandling on or near the property. The employee even went so far as to lock the entrance to the store in order to keep him from entering.
However, Mr. Pierre refused to leave the property and continued to remain outside the entrance until the clerks opened the doors to allow a customer to leave, after completing a transaction. As that customer was being let out, Mr. Pierre began to forcefully, push past the employee…sending him backwards into the store. Mr. Pierre then entered the store anyway.
The clerk declined to prosecute for any assaultive behavior observed on video and instead asked that he be given a criminal trespass notification and removed from the property. Mr. Pierre was asked to identify himself and he immediately, became nervous and refused to provide any information to this Deputy.
Mr. Pierre then began to distance himself and walk away, ignoring commands. He then took flight on foot to avoid detention and arrest. Mr. Pierre ran through a wooded area along the railroad tracks and was eventually, apprehended on Riverside Dr. near Willie Smokie Glover Dr.
Mr. Pierre was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County LEC for detention and processing.
