On September 20, 2024
at approximately 0040 hours, I Deputy F. Gray observed a red in color SUV tag # ([REDACTED]) traveling westbound on Mercer University Drive. The driver of the vehicle did not have a seat belt on along with the passenger. I got behind the vehicle and activated my blue lights and sirens on the vehicle at Mercer University Drive/ Plant St.
The driver of the vehicle failed to come to a stop, which resulted in a vehicle pursuit. The driver of the vehicle accelerated on the gas to speeds up to 50 miles per hour in the area of Felton s apartments. The driver then turned right onto College St and College Drive, while pursuing the vehicle I observed two more occupants of the vehicle along with driver was throwing items out of the vehicle. We then approached sessions drive and college St and turned left onto Anthony Rd at speeds of 55 miles per hour. We Crossed onto Jeff Davis St and turned left onto Tenney Ave and right on Campbell Ave at Curd St. The backseat passenger wearing all black jump out of the vehicle on Curd St. The driver of the vehicle came to a stop at Elizabeth St/ Tindall Ave by crashing into two parked vehicles which was a red in color Toyota Camry and a brown in color Toyota Rav 4.
After crashing, both driver and passenger began to flee on foot from the vehicle. I ran after both occupants which the driver identified as Mr. Jhaiven Maxwell was captured by Srt unit Cpl. Jackson. Both Passenger and back seat passenger still remain at large. The subject Mr. Maxwell was ran through Macon-Bibb Dispatch. I was advised he had valid license and active Superior Court violation of probation warrant out of Bibb County for Theft by receiving stolen property and carrying weapon at school.
Later, was made with the owners of both vehicle Ms. [VICTIM ] (Brown Toyota Rav 4) and Ms. [VICTIM ] ( Red Toyota Camry). The Toyota Camry had right rear damage and Toyota Rav 4 had front right side dame along with front bumper area. Both vehicle damages exceeded over $500 in damages. Also I was alerted by Trooper wilmore and Sgt. witherspoon that a total of three firearms was found in the grass area near Sessions Drive/ College St. The Guns included a Glock .40 Gen 23 Serial #(SWY186), Glock 20 .10mm Serial # ( BNTA020) and Glock 22 .40 Caliber Serial # (BCVC123). The Glock .40 Gen 23 and Glock 20 .10mm came back stolen out of Bibb County and was verified.
Lesters Towing was notified and The subject was transported to the Bibb County LEC by Cpl. Jackson. All weapons turned into crime lab. Vehicle pursuit report completed and Accident report will be completed by Deputy J. Holmes.
