On Wednesday, February 28th, 2024
at 2017 hours I was patrolling the area of Green Acre Lane near the intersection of Bishop Road, Cartersville, GA 30121 when I observed a black Hyundai Sonata bearing Georgia license plate #[REDACTED] fail to come to a complete cessation of movement at the stop sign at this intersection.
I attempted to initiate a traffic stop on this vehicle by activating my emergency blue lights, when the vehicle turned onto Bishop Road, and then onto Ridgedale Road, and accelerated in speed. I activated my emergency siren, and began pursing the vehicle. The vehicle came to the end of Ridgedale Road, which turns into Falcon Circle. The vehicle came to the crest of the hill on Falcon Circle, and the driver exited the vehicle without shifting the vehicle into park. The vehicle began rolling back, and struck the mailbox for [50 BLOCK] and [50 BLOCK] Falcon Circle, causing it to be broken, and ripped out from the ground. The vehicle continued to roll backwards, and struck a parked red Tesla Model X bearing Georgia license plate #[REDACTED] in the front passenger side wheel area. This collision caused somewhat severe damage to both vehicle.
I exited my patrol vehicle, and conducted a felony stop on this vehicle. I observed one black male in the front passenger seat later identified as [VICTIM ]. I called [VICTIM ] out of the vehicle, and detained him in handcuffs to the rear. [VICTIM ] complained of neck pains from the collision. I asked [VICTIM ] who was driving, and he stated his friend, Kenneth Stallworth. The vehicle also returned through GCIC to Kenneth Stallworth, who’s license had been suspended since 01/20/2023.
Metro EMS arrived on scene, and examined [VICTIM ], and he refused transportation to the hospital. [VICTIM ] was released from the scene Wayne Martin’s wrecker service arrived on scene to recover the vehicle.
I then met with the owner of the Tesla, [VICTIM ] at [500 BLOCK] Falcon Circle. [VICTIM ] estimated the damages to his vehicle to cost approximately $30,000 to repair.
Georgia State Patrol arrived on scene to process the crash, case number #C000945188.
Warrants have been secured for Kenneth for felony fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement, criminal damage to property 2nd (private), hit and run, reckless driving, reckless conduct, driving while license suspended, and failure to obey stop sign.
