Discretion is advised.]On Monday, August 5th, 2024, at 2051 hours, I was dispatched to The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, located at 104 Zena Drive, in Cartersville, Georgia, in reference to a domestic report that occurred at [10 BLOCK] Sheffield Place, Apartment [REDACTED], in Cartersville.Upon arrival, I spoke with [VICTIM ]. [VICTIM ] said that her husband, identified as Jose Jasso, was physical with her at the residence. She said that Jose was going to go to Atlanta with friends after he got off of work and told [VICTIM ] to have his child, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] ready to leave when he got . [VICTIM ] said that she was unable to have [REDACTED BY AGENCY] ready because she was cooking, and Jose became angry with her when he got .She said that Jose had grabbed her by the throat and squeezed, where she said she was unable to breath. She said that Jose only choked her for a short period of time and she never lost consciousness. She said that during this time, she was holding her other child, identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and also said that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was present and witnessed the incident.I did not see any bruising on [VICTIM ]. [VICTIM ] did however present a photograph which was time stamped on August 4th, at approximately 1500 hours, a day prior to the reported date. [VICTIM ] said she took the photograph shortly after the incident.I observed redness on [VICTIM ]’s neck in the photograph, which appeared fresh and was consistent with testimony of [VICTIM ] being choked by Jose.I relocated to [10 BLOCK] Sheffield Place and spoke with Jose. Jose initially said that he was in Atlanta the entire day of the reported incident and did not work, but later said that he came after working with his father and got into an argument with [VICTIM ]. Jose also said that he did tell [VICTIM ] to have [REDACTED BY AGENCY] ready when he got . Jose said that he had to push [VICTIM ] away to leave the residence and said that he did not choke [VICTIM ].Due to the physical injury I observed via photograph, and [VICTIM ] saying that Jose had choked her to the point she was unable to breathe, and her statement that both children were present during the altercation, Jose was placed under arrest for the following:(1) Aggravated Assault- Strangulation FVA(2) Cruelty To Children 3rd DegreeJose was transported to The Bartow County Detention Center without incident.[End of Narrative].
